This is the first iv heard of afflecs being closed down,pretty shocking concidering that this was the place to go and be when growing up,and still to this day i go too.Its the kinda place thats away from the norm the place that stands out from the same old drival of manchester a place that has some heart and ya feel welcome to lose such a place would be a shame.specialy for some corprate giants to make a quick buck and not think of the people that shop there and work there .one word heartless.i just hope that we can make a difference and stop this from happeing.manchester should be trying to maintain this place not destroy it.

Afflecks Palace is one of the cornerstones of alternative culture and shopping in Manchester, to close it would be a great loss to the city.

afflecks is the corner stone of the northeren quarter; its the reason a lot of shops have opened around it inorder for it to become the northeren quarter. its gives everyone a place to head for when lukin for sumthin different. to close afflecks wud not only effect the northern quarters business but rip out manchesters alterbative heart. dont close affecks. by all means help it be more profitable but if u close afflecks u may as well close every other place that goes against the grain in manchester
It is such an important place! Losing Afflecks would completely ruin Manchester and make it lose so much of it's identity! It means too much to too many people!

You carnt close afflecks its the one thing which makes manchetser manchester, closing it would just kill manchetser. The same happend in liverpool they closed Quiggins, luckily in liverpool they moved to another place but the feeling has been distroyed dont let this happen to manchester. Afflecks is a sacred land mark to my generation of Mancunians, you can't take that away from us. Loads of people have had some of their best/ craziest/ coolest moments there!
if your gona shut it at least build something or equovolent size or buiger instead of spreading all the shops around and building sometyhing smaller thuss closeing down maney of the shops afleks palace is part of the comunity and has been for to maney years i am 2 and my mother remembers it just like she remembers the colisium witch went even tho it had shit loads of sup[ort from people like us but look at what happened to that
if ur gona shut it down re iopen it in any part of central manchester that needs regeneration it will bring sutch a comunity with it that instant regroth will be visable why not try one of the old mills in the northern quater or or build sometyhing around tob street thairs loads of old buildings down thair manchester city councel has a lot to answer for if afleks goes and a sutable subsitute isent found
it has to remain. its the main reason i go to Manchester, otherwise people would go to out of town shopping centers, like the trafford center as they are convenient, everything under one roof, afflecks has products that the trafford center couldn't dream of selling.

Even though I know this won't make a bit of difference, don't shut down Afflecks! It'll only be knocked down and fancy flats put up...and there is ENOUGH property devolopment in Manchester already!
