Many people in Sand Piper Bend MHP and other MHP's have been denied the opportunity to improve their health and well-being with pet companionship in dwellings they own. Private home ownership should allow responsible persons to keep pets, but all MHP owners in Sand Piper Bend live under no-pet deed restrictions. Seniors and lower middle-class people who live in Sand Piper Bend MHP and other forms of common interest ownership communities want a change.

We want a law like the one in California that says "No governing documents shall prohibit an owner of a separate interest within a common interest development from keeping at least one pet within the common interest development subject to reasonable rules and regulations of the association."

Secondly the Cat in question is a Therapy Kitty and is totally an inside cat and does not go outdoors. The Cat would not cause any concern for any resident in the park as the cat is never allowed outside. The cat has helped my me in coping with the loss of my husband, and has greatly increased her health. Also the cat has been a great companion for my granddaughters.

We have received a notice that the cat must be removed from our home. We feel since the cat is not allowed outside it would not bother any of the other residents. We love our kitty and it would be like losing one of my children, but we do not want to lose our home either.
