Once again, a young Australian with so much to live for has recently been taken prisoner in Indonesia, with a possibly of facing 10 years in jail for possessing a small amount of ecstasy. This young girl, Michelle Leslie, is a 24 year old model from South Australia who has just returned from New York. The fact that she is facing such a ridiculously large sentence for such a petty crime is yet ANOTHER example of how countries such as Indonesia persist in using corrupt & dispicable laws against our citizens. Recently as we all know, Abu Bashir the terrorist involved in killing 88 of our fellow Australians had his original sentence of 30 months (highly ridiuclous in itself) to 26. And then we have Michelle Leslie receiving possibly 10 years for ecstasy possession, not to mention Schapelle Corby's 20 years which probably won't be reduced, because she is Australian, after all. The prisons themselves are deplorable to have to live in, and are evidence of an out of date, 3rd World country with no respect for human life and total disdain for Western citizens. Unless we get our Government to show some guts, this kind of atrocity will continue. Australians should avoid Indonesia at all costs.
