i cried hysterically the morning the news broke. i remember the days bofore the monday morning. they said tune in to the morning show for an impotant announcement. i was all excited thinking they were gonna do something like a benifit concert or something, but i tuned to here howard stern. i hate him with passion. b94 was/is my favorite radio station, and should be broguht back.

They saw Star as having a decent, yet small listening base. To them, it didn’t matter that there were a lot of us that liked the “dance friendly” oriented format or not. They see it in dollar signs.
They’re also scared to death about satellite radio moving in. This is why prior to the format change, you were hearing all those commercials about “you heard it here first”.
You may be saying to yourself, how could they have been hurting money wise if they had plently of commercials being aired and just about everyone you know listens to the station?
Well, that’s not how corporate sees it. They look at the arbitron ratings.
Putting that aside, let’s talk about us - the listeners. We’re all pissed off that our “little community” of disco/dance music lovers has once again been pushed aside. This same thing happened when Kiss 108 sold-out back in the mid 80s when they decided to start playing all that modern rock/alternative crap mixed in with whatever dance music they played.
We all bitched and moaned about that also… but it never got us anywhere.
Now, we have nothing (expect for satellite radio and streaming 103.5 ktu out of nyc).
I see 93.7 mike fm trying to stress the point that they “play everything”. Who gives a crap about hearing everything? We already have over a dozen rock stations on the fm dial already paying classic rock, modern rock, pop rock and oldies. What makes 93.7 mike fm unique? Nothing.
Yes, gone are the radio jocks we loved to hear (except for that annoying bitch Ann Duran - now that was a smart move getting rid of her. Someone actually called in one day to request Diamond Girl and she said “Were I come from, upstate Michigan, we never heard that song”. Ah, this isn’t upstate Michigan, this is Boston, you fool).

I totally miss bzz/b94. They played a different variety of songs, which i love. I was over the station a few times with my buddy adam n stupid guitar boy. I also recorded a rap for the station about listenin to bzz, not kiss. Please BRING EM BACK. Aint nothing better.

I just moved back to the city after spending 17 years working on race cars in Spain only to find out that B94 had been replaced by the rock of Pittsburgh. When I left queer and bandanna were still on B94. I find out that Jim Queer is talking politics and Bandanna is taking it up the ass in prison.
I'm a former Pittsburgher and am currently living in Florida. I learned the very sad new of B94's demise during my last visit. I was very sad not to hear my tried and true pop station. The problem with KISS FM is that it's %85 rap %10 R&B and %5 everything else. Now I do like most of the songs KISS FM plays but my god my speakers and bass adjustment need a break every soo often. I love rock to so unfortunatly I was stuck with WDVE and 96.1 throughout my stay. I liked to hop between B94, WDVE, and 96.1 before but my choices had dwindled during my visit. And how could they dump John, Dave, Bubba, and Shelly. I loved their show!!! Just to let you know I'm missing B94.

Radio changes with time, WBZZ (B937, B94)'s ratings were slipping and Infinity Pittsburgh had to do something to make that station sucessful. Im 26 and when I was into top 40, I loved top 40 and B94 was great, but times do change and the station wasn't pulling in the ratings like it used to, especially with the competition from Clear Channel's KissFM.

I have been listening to B94 for god only knows how long...it was my favorite radio station..and when it got turned off i was really bummed...because there isnt much on the radio now...the only other thing like it...is kiss fm...and B94 was always better....I dont like Scotty on Kiss...I think that all the Djs from B94 were alot nicer...and alot more fun!! I really miss B94...and Im very sad it isnt on air!! So I hope they will come back...cause we need some good music back on the air...and more fun people too...!!!

Unless you all forgot, Howard will be on free radio for only another year, then he's outta there and on satellite radio. I listen to Howard every once in a while but I also liked B94's morning show. So i hope all you howard fans are well-off enough to send him a check each month to listen.
Granted, I really like the music that K Rock plays and hated B94's music, but I must agree that Howard Stern has to go. Best part, it isn't owned by Clear Channel so we won't have to worry about "banned songs." K Rock is a great music station, but that's about it, the shows they got are no good.
Hey, pittsburgh had enough stations that played the same god damn pop songs every 2 hours. how could you listen to that? they would replay the same 15-20 every 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Your are right about 1 thing greg, Pittsburgh did actually need another rock station. We needed a good one not owned by Clear Channel, and thanks to K-Rock, we now have one.

haha. This petition is a raving success! They must bring back B94 now after seeing this petition with a whole 17 signatures, with most people signing just to say b94 sucked. Sticking with the trend, I hated b94 and i'm glad it's gone. I am glad we now have K-Rock which plays classic as well as some modern rock. The best thing about K-Rock is that it's not owned by Clear Channel. I love K-Rock and i'm glad they brought Howard back to town.
Personally....I'm 35 years old and they day the B94 morning show said their goodbyes...I was thrilled! They acted like a bunch of teenagers and never grew up. The music was repeated numerous times during the day! It was about time they took B94 off. Now I just wish Bubba would leave 100.7 because he's hurting the morning show!
I must admit this, but I am sorry to hear about the former B94 going out the way it did. Hey, sometimes change is good. What Pittsburgh really needs is restructuring, especially their radio stations. It's bad enough we have an FM talk radio station and about 6 country stations (Y108 and the FROGGY 5!) But let me tell you all this --- thre will be changes in Pittsburgh radio between now and the end of 2004 . . . stay tuned!

I have listened to B 94 since I was 7, which was in 1981. There are too many rock stations in Pittsburgh. B 94 was a much better station than 96.1 KISSFM will ever be. The DJS at the B made us feel at home. I believe with a little fine tuning, B 94 could be a success again if Infinity decided to bring it back.

You guys are so typical of Pittsburgh..holding on to the past. Let Go! B94 was the worst excuse for a Top 40 station. Don't get me wrong, I guess B94 was the lesser of two evils when it comes to Coward Stern and K-Rock but let's be realistic. The ratings slumped because listeners wanted something a little more fresh. I realize I just signed the petition but not because I miss B94 but because I think K-Rock is garage as well. It would be nice if this city could step out of the 1980's.

here in Pittsburgh. We had a great radio station but because of showmanship we lost it to a unstable and for lack of better term a loud mouth sexist pig that has the iq of a turnip we have to lose the one thing that made this city great.
I've been a longtime listener of B94. The morning show was a nice positive start to my day. Howard Stern was the main reason I stopped listening to the X, it made me sick to hear some of the garbage on his show. B94 was a clean station that everyone could listen to and it deserves to comeback.
I listened to b94 when i was about 7 years old. I remember morning shows like, The B Team, Quinn and Banana, John Cline and Banana Don, JohnDaveBubbaShelley(B94) , Dave Bubba Shelley Brian and Amy (93.7 BZZ),and Dave Bubba Brian and Shelley (B937) It is a shame that Infinity did this!Epecially to loyal,dedicated, and proud supporters of the station that been around for 23 years!I am for one am outraged about it, and wish to have it back. I mean we have enough rock stations in this area already. The last time that there was so many stations with the same format, was back in 1995, when we had three country stations at the same time. I mean enough is enough! I mean, Infinity could've saved the trouble buy buying 105.9 The X, and put Howard back on there. That could've saved alot of jobs at the station (B94). The one slogan says "listen to us, and we'll listen to you". So please listen to us! We want B94 Back and we want it back now!!!!!!!
