This petition is to change the radio airways. Now that MTV is basically gone, and Vh1 is all reality shows, the radio stations control what we listen to. According to them, The Backstreet Boys are insignificant artists with no fan base. All us fans hear the jokes associated with being a Backstreet Fan, but as the boys say, "The fans are crazy". We support them through every aspect of their life and that is something that few fans do for their favorite artists. Who's considered popular in music comes and go, but the love for our precious Backstreet Boys transcends any time limit. The Backstreet Boys have been together since 1993. That means they have been touching the hearts of their fans for over 15 years. How many artists can say that? The Backstreet Boys kicked down the door for many of the artists that are around now. If Backstreet Boys hadn't have broken the barriers, there would have been no Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears. There would be no Eminem to rebel against the Bubble Gum Pop explosion. Timbaland would not have come back into the scene unless Justin Timberlake was trying to make his album less pop. Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers wouldn't have the huge fanbase that they have now. Backstreet Boys were a significant aid in the music industry and now that MTV no longer exists in Times Square, people think the Backstreet Boys are has beens, but they're not. The Backstreet Boys are here to stay. Their new album, "This is Us" will be released on October 6th in the US. They have a new single, "Straight Through My Heart" and its funny how it has hit number 1 in Asia and South America, yet we don't hear it on the radio stations in the United States, their home base. This petition is aimed at letting all fans come together and show that we DO want to hear the Backstreet Boys on the radio!
