Please stop making these overly violent games or better still, stop promoting violent games to the under 18's gamers market, if the game is 18 rated why are children playing it?

I do not, in anyway, support this. This game is for ADULTS! When you say why are children playing it? Why do you think? Becuase PARENTS let them, it's not the companys fault. Blame the parents. They did add a child lock to consoles for a reason, maybe parents should use them if they don't want kids playing it? And another thing, I bet you're one of those idiots who think "Murder in games = Murder in life." right? WRONG! If anyone did murder anyone after playing this game, it's becuase they already had the power to murder someone. The game did nothing. The first time I played a Grand Theft Auto game was when I was 8, and it was for the PlayStation One, I've played voilent games ever since and I can say that I've never murdered anyone. So get lost with your stupid pertition and get a life. Idiot.

If you ever needed evidence to support a ban on this type of video game just look at the mental calibre of some of the individuals criticising this petition below! Frankly half of them sound like they have forgotten to take their medication! Whilst the vast majority of the people can separate games from reality it is the sad human detritus such as some of those that have momented below that are suspectable to being brainwashed into crossing the line into committing a real atrocity. Whilst profit driven software houses who continue pump out this rubbish are grossly irresponsible and metaphorically have blood on their hands it is the government that are equally culpable for not banning this revolting tide of so called entertainment, based on the glorifaction of all the worst elements of society. I'm sure its all but impossible to quantity the damage which this tide of negative and destructive video nasties has on many vulnerable members of society. Its not so much the subnormal social misfits that enjoy these games for the wrong reasons that I despise so much as the greedy social misfits which produce these 'games' in the first place. May God forgive them.

I do -not- support this petition. I am not a fan of such games as GTA and Saints Row, but I would never even consider refusing others the privilege of playing them. I myself an am avid player of a game known as Fable 2, which allows you to make the choice of being good and helping people, or falling to darkness and slaughtering entire cities. I have been paying such forms of gaming since I was the tender age of five, and here I sit as an SNHU college student with no crime record to speak of. If video games are responsible for causing children to spiral into such crime sprees, then why haven't I done such a thing. A simple fact is that parents do need to take more responsibility about what they allow their children to play. My father exposed me to games that I likely shouldn't have looked at, but I still managed to keep forth as a good citizen. This year I am writing my term paper on Video Game Violence and its affects on those who play them. If you would like, send me an e-mail and I will give you a copy when it is done. Make your decision from there.

I just got GTA IV for my 33rd birthday. An d love it (althought I love the sound track to Vice City much more) As a parent of a 16 month old I would never allow him to play this game when he is older. Infact I've store this game where he can not see it and only play it when he is either asleep or not around, so I can get into the habit of not playing it when he is around. The point is banning this game is wrong. The first amendment is sacred and should not be trampled on. Part of living in a free society is putting up with speech and entertainment that we do not agree with. I think movies like the Friday the 13th series are appaling, do I want them banned? , No! I simply do not watch them! Who'd thought that? Now ofcourse minors should not be playing this game, just like minor's shouldn't bee watching porn or drinking beer. What it boils down too is parenting. Before you run out and buy a game for your kid, research it. Make sure it's appropiate for your kid. If you feel it is not, then don't buy it, even if the kid whines about it. Remember folks you're their parent not their friend. So banning this game would be as wrong as banning the bible. Censorship in any form is abnorant. God bless America!

I support this petition. This sort of violence should not be promoted at ANY age. There is no good excuse for marketing a game, such as GTA IV, that allows players to have sex with women, then kill them. The people who make these games are sick!

It has a story line just like an action movie. It has objectives. Just like an actor on a movie.
