personaly i think biking schould be alowed in every skatepark as the sports are just the same, just a different set of wheels. myself am a skater and a bmx freestyler. peaceo to both. these days skaters are somtimes just a bit too ignorant towards bikers is my upinion. Gert
because excluding select users from PUBLIC recreational facilities is discriminatory. Increased insurance costs, liability, and park damage are not valid reasons for excluding bmx from skateparks. If municipalities are going to build a PUBLIC recreation facility such as a skatepark, it must allow equal access to all users regardless of ethnicity, disability, and choice of sport. Would a public park allow soccer players on a grass field, but exclude football players? I think not.
if you don't allow bikes in your city's skatepark, then your city will be the skatepark. there is no facility provided for bikes, and they do not want/need a race track. Thank you for your consideration.
we need to stop discriminating against one children's toy to the next. I thought america was the land of the free, were talking about bmx bikes, skaters get over yourselves.
I have been riding skateparks for around 15 years now and I have seen no difference between what "damage" skateboards and bikes cause. I have seen bad collisions with both skaters and bikers. When people get hurt it is because of how fast or how high they are going - not if it's on a bike or a board.
Bikes need a place to ride just like the skaters. I know that bikers help with skatepark fundraising and the building of many parks, but we are still not allowed to ride them. These parks are also partially paid for with public dollars and need to be used by the public and not a select group.
Due to many parks changing to rules as "no bikes allowed" this is leavng us riders very few legal places to be able to go legaly to enjoy our sport. We all ride the same sort of ramps no matter where we are. The discrimination brought against us is compleatly unessasary and ignorant. Paid parks adopting these practices are loosing big money in the riders that they would attract, while public free parks are paid for by taxpayers for everyone to enjoy. My local free and paid skateparks allow everyone and we all get along perficly fine. The issue of supposid fights breaking out is an utter lie. Its differences and rules like this that bring tension between some sports whether its extream sports or not. All
I can ask is that if you build something that is "no bikes" build another place for only us to go, otherwise we are being discriminated against just like the african americans, women, and all other races have in the past.
End the war. Let bikers bike along side the skaters. Back in cali, bikers and skaters get along. They dont up here because of the skatepark being exclusive to skateboards only.
We are all beings of interest and are all in different levels of learning. Such as a pro skater will do way more damage then a free flowing pro bmxer, bmxing is alot smoother and most tricks are air tricks, unlike skateboards with hard wheels and metal trucks
skateparks are paid for by everybody and therefore should be open to anybody, regardless of the number of wheels. There's no way 100 skaters do less damage than 10 bikers.
