Journalists must not allow themselves to become tools of propaganda for our government. Once they have been subverted our government has a free hand to commit any act or atrocity. The media plays an essential role in holding our government accountable for its actions. Britt Hume has not even shown enough intregrity to correct his obviously inaccurate portrayal of FDR's stance on social security. No more propaganda, no more lies. Britt Hume must resign because it is obvious he is a shill. I would also like to know how much the Whitehouse paid him to lie about FDR's remarks, ala Armstrong Williams, Maggie Gallagher, etc.
Hume could have gone down in history as a well respected journalist. By teaming with Fox he will be remembered as a hack. That choice shows where his journalistic ethics are.

It's bad enough that this misrepresentation of FDR is a lie passed forward as if factual news, what I believe warrants your resignation is that the same excerpts were twisted in the same way by a few other "right wing journalists" as well as a few legislators in open session - the same rereading in the same manner of a document about 70 years old shows a common source for dissemination - probably a "think tank" co-ordinating a propaganda channel. Propaganda parading as NEWS... far worse than what happened at CBS last year.
