Fox News is doing a disservice to my country by distorting the news. Because it refuses to make its staff accountable for spreading misinformation, then I must do my part to try and bring accountability to them. Brit Hume should resign!
This is reprehensible conduct by a anchor to distort the words of a deceased President. I demand a retraction, apology and resignation as he has no credibility or integrity. I will no longer watch Fox News.
Lies and falsehoods...is that all your programming has to offer? What a sad excuse for 'new'...perhaps the Brit Hume report could be renamed: Propaganda from the far right. Why don't you borrow from your own moronic Repuglican presidents...instead of twisting the words of a Dem. pres.?
BRIT HUME IS AN HONORABLE AND BRILLANT JOURNALIST.
IT IS TOO BAD THAT YOU ONLY WANT TO LISTEN TO THE LIBERAL MISINFORMATION AND NOT TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH.
THIS PETITION DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION OR DOCUMENTATION TO SUBSTANTIATE ITSELF.
IT IS TOO BAD THAT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANT ISSUES FACING AMERICA AND ONLY WANT TO DESTROY THE AMERICAN VALUES WITH YOUR HATRED.
Brit Hume no longer has any credibility as a reporter, and should resign. The bigger problem, however, is that Hume is just the tip of the iceberg at Fox News. How on earth did that entire network become the propaganda network for the current administration? Does Carl Rove write their daily talking points?
Brit Hume should resign, apologize, or at the very least, admit that he's a shill for the Bush Administration and the Republican Party. As I've heard other people say, had this been someone like Dan Rather who manipulated Ronald Reagan's words to make it seem like he said something he didn't, the people at FOX News would be smearing them. Brit Hume is a disgrace to the profession of journalism.
Brit Hume, in the guise of a news anchor, not a pundit, chose to deliberately falsify not only the words, but the spirit of FDR's message to the American people.
He need's to apologise for this distortion, then resign.
This isn't a failure to authenticate a minor aspect of a story, as with the Bush National Guard story, which all of our media, not just Fox got into a huge lather about. It was clearly an intentional distortion.
Brit Hume resigns and Fox issues an apology, or Fox by default admits it is a propaganda organ for the Republican party.
One or the other, guys, you choose.
Hume: This is the United States. We should seek to always uphold the truth, whether it be historical truth, scientific truth or personal truth. You have consciously violated all three and should resign immediately.
Othe journalists have resigned when they've failed to verify authenticity, while Fox produces verifiable lies everyday.
If Brit Hume were honourable, he'd resign. If he doesn't resign, he represents the worst in the Bush administration's failure to accept responsibility for mistakes.
This man is not a journalist. He willingy decieved FOX viewers and influenced other incompetant hacks to parrot the same disinformation. He needs to be fired NOW!
Where does Mr. Hume get the arrogance to cobble together the words of the President of the United States to serve his selfish partisan agenda, manipulating and distorting their true meaning? What little respect he had as journalist has completely disappeared. He is a disgrace to his profession and compromise the honor and veracity of all journalist.
If FOX News wants to maintain any creditability, they should fire he immediately. Don't worry, I'm sure the Talon News Service will offer him a job.
As Brit Hume most likely makes millions of dollars working for the Fox 'News' organization, he gleefully lies to help destroy the Social Security system that he'll never need.
If this were some "liberal" commentator he'd be fired in a minute but since he's a right wing nut he'll probably get a raise.
He should not resign - he should be fired!!!
I'm sick to death of the Fox Propoganda machine. The dumbing down of our society. Brit Humes needs to resign, and take the rest of the liars and shills with him.
Dan Rather apologized for running a story that he hadn't properly authenicated, but which was essentially true. Brit Hume purposely cut and pasted to intentionally distort FDR's statement, and refuses to apologize.Which person has "moral values"?
Hume was outraged by Rather-gate. Let's assume he's equally outraged by himself. If he supports Rather stepping down, it only makes sense to do the same.
virtually every Republican that I have ever spoken with ltely, if consulted by my buddy with a Masters in clinical psychology, would be deemed borderline delusional based on an extreme level of denial
Franken is so far gone into partisan politics that he can't see that Hume accurately quoted the former President, and in fact succinctly summed up what he was saying.
Furthermore, even if one disagrees with Hume's evaluation of what FDR said, to say that he's *lying* is nothing short of ridiculous. Agenda against Fox New Channel and those who work there by Franken and his band of liberaloons? Surely not! Heh.
The Democrats on the extreme left may not *like* that one of their icons, in setting up a system they crave to leave stagnating, realized that it was a temporary fix.. but it's a simple fact that the quote shows that.. whether one reads the quote from Hume on Fox News Channel, or the quote straight from the former President.
we do not need more slanderous reporters that bend the truth if not flat out lie, if he's not going to tell the truth, or if he's going to bend the truth, then get him out of his buisness!
I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in America's media. For the good of the country, and restoring a little bit of what used to be a truthful media, please resign.
Brit Hume is nothing more that a right wing partisan hack.Fox will never fire him or let him resign. We have to voice enough outrage so whats left of the independent media will have to expose Fox for what it is.
