This is my all time favorite show, and I watch OMWF on almost a weekly basis. I was looking forward to attending an upcoming showing with an equally obsessed friend, and I don't know how I'm gonna tell her the bad news. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get this worked out!!!
Once again, something simple has to be complicated when it shouldn't be. I doubt I'll ever be able to see it, unless they do something similar in Virginia Beach,Va. Hmmm
Doesn't Fox also own Rocky Horror Picture Show? Is that going to be shut down next, and end a 30 year tradition? This is extremely short sighted and bad business, as well.
This is a fan based activity. The kind of activity that keeps the show alive, even four years after the show is off the air. Fox is simply shooting their own foot doing so. Let it play, let it live.
I think it is ridiculous that it was haulted! It went on for a long time and they are just now stopping it? Why not let them finish the scheduled tour dates and then cancel it until FOX can figure out a way to get their hands in the cookie jar?? What a crock!!
Seeing the Musical on the big screen was such an awesome experience, I can only give my biggest condolences to those whose screening was cancelled. I hope that Fox will allow the Sing Alongs to continue so that others, as well as myself, can continue to participate in such a wonderful event for years to come.
The Tivoli announced this event in June of this year. Less than a week after I bought tickets for my girlfriend of two years. Buffy is her favorite show, and she knows everything about it. Since June she has mentioned this event nearly every day. The news will break her heart ! I hope you are happy!
Come on, bring back the Buffy Musical. It's a modern day cult classic, and I can't believe that any studio would want to kill something with this much grassroots support. Find a way to make these shows happen.
i and 2 friends bought tickets to fly from san francisco to new york, with 75% of the reason being to watch the october showing of the buffy musical. we are sad and disappointed now, please refer to this emoticon which expresses our current emotional state :(
This is wonderful, good, clean, keeping-the-franchise-ali ve-and-strong-so-you-can- make-oodles-more-profit-l ater fun -- why in the world would you stop it? Please bring back the Buffy musical, it's good for us and you and everyone. Please help make the world a more Buffy and happy place and yourself some more money too while you're at it.
F**K YOU! you ripped them off! who the hell do you think you are? I hope you go to jail douche bag!
You didn't invent the sing-a-long, you STOLE IT! and you know who from!!!
Wasn't it enough that Fox sold off BTVS to another network? Now to cancel a handful of events that are just pure fun for BTVS-starved fans? The least Fox can do is let the BTVS singalong happen, considering that they have a history of taking some of the best shows ever to grace our television screens, marketing them badly (if at all), and finally cancelling them (e.g. BTVS, Firefly, Arrested Development!!!) Give us a break. Union workers in Hollywood have already made their money off this ONE particular Buffy episode when it first aired years ago, so give it a rest already. Fox should be ashamed of themselves, but I guess that's too much to expect from the network behind the best fiction on TV today, Fox News.
How sad! I just had friends come in from out of town to see the St. Louis show tomorrow, only to see it's been cancelled. This is an event no Buffy fan should miss... and it's also something that could get non-fans into the show, and therefore buy DVDs.I hope some sort of agreement can be come to, so I can see the Musical on the big screen soon!
We're paying money to watch a show that ended over four years ago! What's the big deal? At least have the courtesy to give the organizers better notice.
man fox you are seriously shooting yourself in the foot. look at rocky horror. cult classics can bring in money long after a normal production would be dead and gone.
