I saw a screening of this at Comic-Con last year. It was one of the definite highlights of the weekend [maybe even my favorite moment.] I was really looking forward to the next chance to see it.
I went to a Buffy musical sing along in Austin, TX and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. I really want the fun to continue. Bring Buffy Back!
I really enjoyed being able to attend the screening in Portland Oregon. There have been multiple events in the city that have brought together fans of Joss Whedon's TV shows.
I cannot even begin to describe the profound effect that Buffy the Vampire Slayer has had on my friends and I, much less the effect of Joss Whedon's entire body of work. The stories, the characters, the emotions are so real, so involved, so personal that they stay with you forever. The show is over, but in its way it lives on, in the hearts and the minds of so many wonderful, creative, and involved people. Some of those people thought it would be a great send-up of their favorite show to make a Once More With Feeling musical, and so they did, and, shock shock, it was a rousing success. They sang and danced their hearts out, all in honor of a show, and a man, that changed their lives. A show, and a man, that put a song in their hearts. That is exactly the kind of thing we need more of in the world.
Buffy is the only show I ever got into watching regularly. I blew off boyfriends, turned off my phone when it was on, caught every rerun, bought every season and have turned friends, family and strangers onto the show. I was jazzed to finally get to go see it live and just found out that it's being cancelled. The cult fame this will bring the show can only turn out profit for anyone involved with it at all in the end. Nothing short of apocolypse (well, another one) should shut it down.
One of my favorite outings with friends was to a local Buffy Sing-a-Long. We even convinced friends who formerly had not watched the show to attend. Bring back the fun!
These screening mean a lot to a lot of people, and bring together a caring community of folks that can move mountains together. Shutting them down just doesn't make sense. Please reconsider your position.
SUCKAGE!!! Please bring this back. I've been to the show now about 5 times. It's like a monthly pilgrimage for some of us (plus it's always a hoot!!) PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
I would think that the Buffy sing-a-long would be a great driver for further DVD sales at zero cost to fox. Why jeopardise a potential income stream with heavy-handed tactics?
Unless you're just thinking of how to capitalize financially on this phenomenon, I see no harm in letting devoted fans continue to show their love of Whedon's brainchild. I hope to be able to see it next fall when I visit the city.
I watched the entire series in one week and had to come see this. I was dying to go sometime during the year! Please reconsider. Us newbie fans would liek to be apart of this.
We have not gotten to go to one of these yet and certainly hope we have not missed our chance. We love Buffy and Once More With Feeling, and think making a theatrical production out of it is the coolest idea ever! Bring back the Buffy musical!!
I missed the first Chicago engagement and was looking forward to seeing it the next time around. This is my FAVORITE Buffy episode of all time, and I beg whoever can listen -- please bring it back!!!
If charging admission is how to make this happen, I would gladly pay it to see the Buffy Musical performed. Studios need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that making ANYTHING off a dead show is better than making enemies of the fanbase.
Many people would be extremely grateful if the unions of the TV and film industries could devise a way to compensiate the talented people who made this high quality musical episode. No one who has signed this petition would want their ticket money to go soley to the movie theater. We do understand that the creators should have their share too - the directors, camera crew and make-up artists.I hope that we all can start enjoying our favorite episode soon! Thank you very much for your continuing work on this issue.
I want to see this! Bring the Buffy muscial back! I am a loyal Buffy fan for all of these years! I read the comics, and would LOVE to see any other BUFFY related stuff!
Oh, please bring back the Buffy musical to the big screen! I didn't know about this, but now that I do, I would LOVE to see it in a movie theater and be able to sing along. Please please please!!!
I've only seen this show once but it was one of the best nights of my life! You absolutely cannot cancel it. I met some amazing, creative people and just like any artform, the people putting on this show are amazing and passionate about what they do. BRING IT BACK!
This move is surprisingly counterintuitive: I, personally, was looking forward to going to a Buffy musical; having never seen the series when it aired. Fox probably just lost themselves a sale on the Complete Series on DVD.
I became a fan of Buffy/Angel a few years ago after attending a BTVS sing-a-long. Subsequently I've dropped quite a bit of money into Buffy and Angel dvds, comics, and action figures. I think over the years that I've fed enough money to Fox that they could let us fans have a small something that keeps Buffy alive. How does letting us have Buffy sing-a-longs take money away from Fox? And, Fox, haven't you made enough already? How else can new people join the fandom? The show's been off the air for years? Fox, let us sing! This is a customer service nightmare. I know your programming is pervasive but this kind of attitude is a bad business practice. I'll be trying to avoid your other works until you get some common sense and stop acting like you're part of Wolfram and Hart.
Any marketer should be excited and proud when a product continues to generate excitement...especially when it's a TV show that has been off the air for so long. This action is so inane.
