GLOBAL WARMING, WHAT IS IT?

Earth has warmed by about 1 Ferenhight over the past 100 years. But Why? How? Well, scientists are not exactly sure. The Earth could be getting warmer on its own, but many of the world's leading climate scientists think that things people do are helping make the earth become warmer.

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT, CLIMATE, CHANGE AND GLOBAL WARMING.

THE GREEN HOUSE EFFECT: Scientists are sure about the GREEN HOUSE EFFECT, They know that green house gasses make the earth warmer by trapping energy in the atmosphere.


CLIMATE CHANGE: Climate change is the long-term average of a region's wheather events lumped together. For example, its possible that a winter day in Buffalo, New York, could be sunny and mild, but the average wheather-climate-tells us that Buffalo's winter's will be mainly cold and include snow or rain. Climate change represents a change in these long-term wheather patterns. They can become warmer or colder. Annual amounts of rainfall or snow fall can increase or deacrease.


GLOBAL WARMING: Global warming refers to an average increase in Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about Global Warming caused by human activities.

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT:

The Green House Effect is the rise in temperature that the Earth expieriences because certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon, dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, for example)trap energy from the sun. With out these gases, heat would escape back into space and earth's average temperature would bo about 60 degrees ferenhight colder.Because of how the gases warm our world, these gases are referred to as green house gasses.

Here is how the green house effect works:
Solar radition passes through the clear atmosphere then, Most radiation is absorbed by the earth's surface and warms it then Some solar radiation is reflected by the earth and the atmosphere then Some of the infrared radiation passes through the atmosphere and some is absorbed and re-emitted in all directions by green house gas molecules. The effect of this is to warm the earth's surface and the lower atmosphere then Infrated radiation is amitted from the earth's surface. or its the other way around.

But look I am not an expert on this kind of stuff but this petition is for the fact that electricity is the main cause for green house gasses so it would be a great oppurtunity to have one week every year to have a day when we could cut down on electricity since it is what we use most of more than anything and America uses the most electricity more than any other continent in the world , here is a way to get organized so you can stick to the electricity cut down for that week. Make a list of things that you do that take up electricity for instance, say every person in your family watches 5 hours of TV a day every day of the week well to cut down but then people in your family can start whatching 2 hours of TV a day every day of that special week or you can start doing it as a weekly routine for a few months which would be even better!!!!!!!
