The United States is home to one of the worst health care systems in the entire world—one that is unequivocally broken and needs fixing. The current system is broken for the nearly 50 million Americans that do not have health insurance, and perhaps even more alarming; it is broken for the remaining 250 million who do.

The United States should look to reform this system by adopting a Universal Health Care System similar to that of France. France provides all of its citizens with basic health care coverage, while also allowing them to purchase supplemental insurance for higher levels of care. The system has proven to be extremely successful in France from a competency and cost standpoint. France ranks among the worlds best in life expectancy, infant mortality, health care satisfaction, wait lines and per capita cost. This system should be a model for future health care reform.
