Hello, I actually wrote a page worth of crap and it got deleted >.< because my comp is slow. Ahh well it was a short story expressing about my feeling and some other authors of self insertions and cyoa fics, on the situation of the deleting. Anyways, I'm pretty upset about this, I'll tell you why. MM.org only got popular because of ff.net banning NC17, self insertions and cyoa fics. It's not fair that they are bannig one of the things that got it popular. We put just as much work on our fics, it's not fair that we have to keep moving from one site to another because of them not wanting cyoa's. It's a FANfic site, meaning we should be able to write what we want. When will it end? When will they realize they aren't getting anywhere with this?--jb

god. i sent an email three days ago to MM asking why they were deleting our CYOA's. i got no answer. >_< DAMN THEM!! my question is this: if they're getting rid of CYOA's, then whats the point of having a Self Insertion category? we put in just as much work as any other author, yaoi and shonen-ai writers included! well, maybe if a lot of people discontinue their accounts MM will reconsider! ^_^ look on the bright side (is there one? oh well) my fellow authors!!!

cyoa are awesome and so fun to read, you can see yourself in a story and imagine what you do, it is a way to get lost in your imagination and a good way to express creativity!
Do you have any idea how much READERS LIKE ME LOVE CYOA'S. I represent some of the people who love to read cyoa's and when fanfiction.net banned them I was BEYOND PISSED!!!!!! do you adminstrators have any idea how long it took me to find my favorite CYOA's-Three F!@#ing months!!!!!. cyoas are a way of expressing creativity through writing and in no way are any different from normal literature. controlling what we can and cannot put on a site is oppressing the right of speech.
This is really bugging me, first ff.net does this now mediaminer?! How annoying! Do you know how mush work and dedication we put in these fics?!?! Why are they deleating them?!?!? We made fanfiction.net famous and without us they would be nothing!! The same thing goes for mm.org!! I had like...30 cyos on ff.net that took me hours ans they deleated all of them! Why should CYOAs be banned? they are legitimate works of literature. You can go to any book store and buy a CYOA book easily, so why shouldn't you be able to read one online?
CYOAs are so popular because they give you an opportunity to experience what it would be like to be around your favorite(and not-so-favorite)character s, granted in a slightly limited format.
A CYOA is a work of someone's imagination just like any other fanfic. And Authors took the time to sit down and write these stories just as they would for any other fanfic. In fact, CYOAs require more work since you have to devise various situations and storylines instaed of one straight plotline.
The people who pay for and maintain these sites should have the right to restict what they will, within reason, but deleting CYOAs just because of what they are and not because of any outstanding reason, and without any explanation, is a blantant violation of Freedom of Speech.

There is absolutely no sense in banning the writing of fanfiction written interactively and in the perspective of the reader, aka CYOA fics. People enjoy them, so why delete them? I've always wondered, ever since ff.net banned them, why interactive fics are so "bad". Maybe if the admin of these sites actually gave us a decent, reasonable EXPLANATION for what they've done, we wouldn't be so angry! I've written several CYOA fics, but have only gotten to publish two of them, because ff.net and mm.org both decided to start banning for no apparent reason. Really, all this came out of nowhere! Authors and readers alike are furious and annoyed over all this. I myself am both, and I do NOT like seeing my fics taken off (as well as all of the other authors out there who've gone through this utter complete crap). The voice of the majority should count. What's the point of removing fanfiction that everyone likes to read, if no one's going to even be left to READ or WRITE anything on that site by the time all the CYOA fics are deleted? Seriously, ff.net always had that little slogan thing about writing to your heart's content and "freeing your soul", but now they've laid down too many restrictions!!! TOO MANY!! I think its a really good idea that Brittany has started this petition. It gives the chance for the authors to come together and express the way they feel. What mediaminer.org is planning to do is insane. CYOA's bring ALOT of people to that site. I am curently a member there but I haven't written any CYOA's but I enjoy reading them just the same and I feel that mediaminer.org is making a BIG MISTAKE!!! And there is romor that self insertons are next in line for the trash and I have many stories that are of that type!!! But I must agree with one of those who signed the petition, it doesnt mean anything if we sit here and complain about whats going on but we must take action. Sending the petition to the owner of the site would be a good start! ^_^ But we must take action now before it's to late!!! So I hope that all of us authors can band together and fight the system!!! ^_^
I respect the decisions the MM.org has made... but I certainly wish that a real explanation was provided. They said that this clean-up was to make it a "[...]more enjoyable site for readers and writers." That does not seem just, considering how many people enjoy reading and writing CYOA fics. If these stories aren't allowed to be posted on the site, then I at least want a reason.
From what I can tell, CYOA's are the most popular fan-fics out there, and so by getting rid of them they will probably loose a lot of support. I know that mm.org got a lot of fans from ff.net deleting CYOA's and now it seems people are moving to soupfiction or e-fcition and it may, at some point, be the same at those places. I think that someone should create a site for CYOA's and CYOA's only. That way, they wouldn't be able to delete them without losing their whole fanbase and all their support. I would do so, but, I would, most likely, not be able to design a web site, or even if I could, have the time to do it in.

People, not to be rude but why are we writing it here when we should be writing to Lady Macbeth? Here's what we do, get a number of petitions and email it to her. She must feel that they're crowding other genres bc in truth that's all I could find and that got annoying especially if it was like 5 other ones. What do you interpret a Mary Sue? A girl that gets a crush? We're all Mary Sues if we think about the CYOA bc we act like them in the story so you're being hypocritical. I am writing this to shut you all up about this!! You write to your superiors, not bitch about it until someone just gets sick of it. CYOA were taken off for a reason, you have to realize that but still think that everyone has a write to post what they want. Maybe MM.org or FF.net could make another site for CYOA like what FF.net did with fictionpress. I think that's the best thing right now, not complaining.
I don't know why every fanfiction site (like FF.net or MM.org) get rid of CYOAs, I mean there the most popular style of fanfictions out there (well that's what I think) I mean why get rid of the best? That's what mostly everyone looks for, I mean we complain about Mary Sues when someone creates an orginal character, but in CYOAs there is a OC but it's you. That's the best thing in the world being paired up with your favorite characters and being with them. I know ever since CYOAs were taken out from FF.net I haven't been there in months, I only go there to see if any crossover have been updated or something like that. Because to be honest even if they suck they do have a good selection of crossovers, while MM.org specialty was CYOAs, now by getting rid of them, they completely destroyed themselves.

This is the second time my stories have been at risk for being deleted. Cyoa's may be allowed now, but self insertions are still in line for the garbage bin. I find this incredibly unfair (especially since Self insertion is an option for story type!) They say it's not a work of fiction or literature. I beg to differ. It's written out, it took up my time, effort and ideas, and it's something that we authors love to do! It's not right for them to banish our hard work!

I am so pissed, it's not fair. Cyoa's and self insertions shouldn't be banned! We put as much work into them as any regular fic, I should know I am the author of one. Its actually harder then a regular one because you have to refrain from using the word 'you' too much and everything. I, too, have grown tired of this. Mediaminer allowed CYOA and now seeks to limit them or remove them entirely. I'm not sure how this comes to be a violation but I am tired of it. Those of you willing to start all over yet again at soupfiction.com, I applaude you. But I, having already had to start over after fanfiction.com began wiping out CYOA, I'm not willing to start over again. Besides, I have a feeling that sooner or later, soupfiction will do the same as fanfiction.com and mediaminer.org, so I'm just not willing to bother myself. And I have a recomendation for all you out there. I believe the only real safe place for that sort of story is fanworks.org. That is the only place my story will remain in it's original form. I agree with everyone else here. Why should CYOA not be allowed? It's one of the most greasts type of fanfic out there. I love them, and I'm sure many other people do as well.
What the hell?!?! It's not fair that mm.org deleting CYOA fics. My interactive fic 'InterDimensional War' was deleted off mm.org and it hadn't even started. People put loads of effort into writing these. I'm sick and tired of people deleting others hard work.
I know some stories should be deleted like really old stories or whatever but they shouldn't delete really really new stories I mean I'm balancing writing and school and I don't wanna do all this hectic stuff for nothin it's not write all authors work their butts off they should be allowed their choice of stories .

I think that it's unfair to delete CYOA fics on mediaminer.org because alot of the authors/authoresses worked hard on them stories and did a excellent job on it. Alot of people put their faith in that story. I think that mediaminer should let people post up their CYOA fics back on there.

I think it's wrong if anoyone deletes anyone's story they don't have the right too.Plus the person who made the story put their effort into the story and it's wrong to delete it.Also I found a new anime site it's called soupfiction.net.

We as the CYOA and Insert U fics have the right to stay wherever we want! It may be an interaction fic to u, but u can not deny the fact that its just another fic with a different perspective!
