My parents have really enjoyed captioned VHS movies... it only makes sense that they would have the same access to DVDs. Please seriously look into captioning DVDs and any other future technology!
Please provide closed captioning on all media types.
My children, who are deaf, ask me to put the captions on when they want to watch a program. They rely on the captions.
Please do not discriminate against the hearing impaired population.
thank you for your support.
I'm not deaf, but I know that deaf people need close captioning. Shame on anyone for not making all entertainment mediums equally accessible when they could very easily be.
i need to help closed captioned on tv and dvd movie too.because my wife deaf and one my daugthter deaf and one son deaf need help close captioned on tv please ok thank u
We, deafies, will be lost in the dark like in the old days if the closed captioned movies dont continue to produce. We are human beings too. We have the same brain equally to hearing people. Please dont let us live in the dark again.
I would prefer to sit with my son watching DVD with captions than asking my son what movie is saying. Movie-making companies should hire captioners to type dialogue into movies.
I, as a person and as an interpreter find it extremely important that ALL v/t and DVDs become captioned. Not only for recreational, but also instructional and informational. I have friends that are late deafened and constantly find themselves missing information, because not all of these materials are captioned. Please make it a requirement to have everything captioned.
It's an unfair justice and we should allow to have closed-captioned on DVD movies as we can understand what's going on the latest stories and be able to relate to one another.
It should be used for television as seeing what's happening on the news, t.v. shows and among other event providing us to rely on reading them.
Do not bar the closed-caption since I am deaf attending the university, the captioning help benefit my need for demand instead of facing a dilemma struggling to read lips is not my forte!! I need to know what's going on the real world so stop taking what was rightfully ours and let us live the life we should lead as individuals....
Please..Please keep this going around the world to all DEAFIES who need CC on all the programs we watch everyday..This is a REQUIREMENT in their enjoyment and EDUCATION for the deaf children all over the world...Make this a BIG demand with the FCC that it is required for each of us who are deaf and hard of hearing..KEEP IT GOING till we get to the FCC council..WE will continue to fight!!! Thanks!!!!
some companies suck, they dont caption nothing, blue underground and image entertainment, are 2 of the worst companies . i dont buy nothing from those two .even if they have good movies .
Please close-caption and/or subtitle all movies and their extras so that the deaf/hard of hearing population can enjoy entertainment and have access as their hearing counterparts.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

It doesn;t matter if theres no captioning, as long they have "english" subtitles options as well. It'll be great if they could put subtitles or captioning on all extra "special bonuses" and so forth. PLEASE make all movies accessible to any type of captioning!
Any TV programing without cc is boring and a waste of time. The same goes for VHS and DVD movies. We should have the right to be able to enjoy them as much as hearing people do.
Everyone needs access to all media and types of communication. I urge all producers to include closed captioned in all your productions. It's the right thing to do and you stand to benefit with additional sales. Why would you not want to do this?
yes i am intersting but some of dvd movie does not close captioned depend on it and also when i see movie dvd said it cc and did not show up and no close captioned it really waste of the money to buy it for nothing thank you so much bye sk
if they deicded to stop cc on every movies, dvd etc.. i think we the deaf people should fight and stand up for our rights and maybe go on news we shouold have a rally and fight for it what do u all think ? great idea ???lets all be a teamwork together and figure out what we can do about it

I want keep the closed captions on tv, dvd, and vhs. It is fair for deaf to read those as hearing people can hear except we cant hear and can read the closed captions
need to make all dvd's in closed capitoned becaue its not fair for hearing impaired not to understand what the movies are all about... give them opportunity to enjoy themselves while watchint dvd's
Deaf and hard of hearing people have the same rights as hearing people. We do not get special discounts for non captioned DVDs or movies that we buy. Frankly speaking, my children and I are unable to enjoy uncaptioned movies, programs, etc. because we do not always understand what is being said.
Please be considerate to the needs of ALL deaf and hard of hearing people.Thank you very much!!!
Yes, I agree with most of you who already signed. CC means equal accessible equipment/technology for Deaf (young or elderly) people all over the U.S.A. (& world, too)!
And, it also gives our young generation the best education as possible for our/their 2nd language. Therefore, we must stand up & sign (speak) for equal rights to be heard. =) Keep it up & spread the news to your families & friends!
Don't be so cruel! You don't know how much it hurts when people talks about the "new movie" AND We ALWAYS have to wait for DVD w/captions! Would you be kind to leave it as it is now?
My deaf sister forwarded this petition to me and I read it thoroughly. Well, I used to interpret everything being said on her favorite TV shows when we were growing up in southern California. She was very, very thrilled and excited when the original caption decorder was "invented" in 1980 and had to have it. Now she has built-in closed captioning in her 52-inch TV and the CC is the most important part of her life. It would kill me to see her lose her right to have the CC.
Hi, I am a hearing woman who would most certainly hate to see the closed captioning feature brutally taken away from my domestic partner's world of silence. She loves to know what it is being said on TV, dvd and vhs shows and movies. Please, please don't ever try to strip her right to have the wonderful closed captioning.
Closed captions provide a critical link to news, entertainment, and information for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing, enabling these individuals to be part of the cultural mainstream of our society. Therefore the captions should not be going away.
