all VHS and DVD must have closed captioned is very important for read what the movie talk about than guess the word from the read lip . it is very difficult for read lip becuase of body and face moving a lot of action.
I was born profoundly deaf, but now currently have used the cochlear implant for over 10 years with great success. However, when it comes to tv and movies, it helps so much to have captioning in order to understand every single word. I say don't be a ***** and ignore the deaf population.
I remmy when I ordered DVDs about VIDEO PROFESSOR, it's SADLY offering the captions or english subtitles on screen display from any DVDs. Also ever more movie clips about the community disaster such as tornados, hurricaines, sun flares, etc.. no found captions or subtitles avaiables, How very shame!!!
We must protest all DVDs, VCDs, CDs captions and subtitles MUST be compatibles to all Deaf Community.
Thanks,
VIVO
Deaf Individuals have just as much right as everyone of us who is hearing to be able to watch - and understand television programs. There should not be any discrimination - at all!
We all deaf people require to have closed captioned to all the movies DVD . It wouldnt be fair with hearing people can hear and understand the words nothing missed it but we missed alot cuz of no cc how can we understand what they talk abt??? Is that fair?????
Pls put cc on DVD thanks!!!!!
I can't imagine why movie producers would balk at adding close captioning to their products(movies and videos). In my opinion the benefits far outweigh the downfalls. Not only could it be used as a tool to help comprehension for many people ( of which the population is constantly growing)(this includes younger people of different backgrounds and cultures), don't the producers realize that it would make their products more desirable for purchase by various untapped populations thus increasing their profit margins? Also, providing a public service always presents a bright light on the producer that stays in the consumer's mind. It makes sense to me. Dorothy Denham
or how will i understands without cc, hey we needs it or if on world news or moives how can we can save our life, hearing bad and good news, and good moives ( cant miss it) pls give us fair, being human as hearing human too.. we are on earth too, thanks
As a citizen, I enjoyed the benefits of closed captioned movies in sharing the same joy and fun with hearing audiences in watching movies such as Star Wars. Turning off the closed captioned is like turning off the volume for hearing audiences. IMAGINE! I encouarge you to keep closed captioned because it does make a huge difference in all of us, deaf and hard of hearing, hearing and foreign born citizens. Thank you! God Bless.
Closed captions requires on tv shows, theatres, news on tv, because deaf people wants to know what they are talking about.. and helps improving english skills too...
it is frustrating to have deaf family members who cant enjoy movies that you are watching because of it being un-captioned shouldn't be allowed even crappy movies should have captioning
I want more closed captioning in all areas. I have just had an arguement with my local cable company on this issue. I will not pay for movies that I rent to find they are not closed captioned. So far the movies have not been taken off my bill. If anyone knows who to contact about this other than the cable company, I would love to find someone with a bigger "gun" than mine.
deaf people need to be treated as equal as hearing people. Many deaf people love to watch movies. I pray that CC will be kept and added to more movies :) Thanks
I love colsed capitoned it helps me understand what s going on out there. Also when I use it at work People ask me what s that and help them to understand us. I enjoy when I can sit and watch a movie with my hearing friends or family then I don't have to feel like I have to ask all what's going on what happened. That way deaf and hearing can sit and just enjoy a movie wtih no added stress!
Hiya, First of all, Please keep that Closed Capitoned, Those are really very important to us who are deaf peoples really reply on that thing, We can understand what they talkin about instead without CC.. We are out of it, cant really understand what they talkin about.. so we reply on that those thing.. Please keep that.. Thanks
Please try to understand how VERY IMPORTANT close captioning is for deaf and hard-of-hearing consumers! They watch and buy as many movies as hearing people! Please remember the ADA when this decision is made!
Closed captioning is very important to deafies so that it would help them understand better and improve their language. I support it lots. Please be considerate of their needs. Smile.
So many hearing impaired people depend on CC. There should be a law stating that ALL television broadcasts, films, commercials,
DVD, videos and any information presented on the WWW have CC available if needed. There are "other" languages made available and a lot of other help out there for others who are impaired in different ways, for ex. "ramps" in buildings, sidewalks, etc. So why can't CC be made mandatory? The FCC and other enforcement agencies should be made aware of this!
Please provide close captioning for those who need it. My sisters and brother enjoy the movies so much better. it also helps childeren to learn to read.
You have much fun in watching movies? Where are mine? Because of my severe hearing loss with nothing helpful from a hearing aid, I depend on closed captioned to understand the whole movie joyfully. Please keep adding closed captioned to every DVD. Thanks.
hello this is lynn i hope keep not lose most deaf people must with closedcaptiong if tv or dvd or vhs if not without of cloeedcaptiong deaf people will complain try figth for governet thanks that all
Actually, we need strong legislation to protect the rights of citizens with Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Also, we need a comprehensive solution that secures our full communication acccessibility. We don’t deserve more loopholes, we need real reform.
