Must have caption on Tv, Movies, Tapes and DVD so can understand what it saying without asking my children to inpterpter. I don't want to loose my freedom of understanding speech like hearing people can hear but what about us deaf people must have caption to hear!! We deaf people use our eyes to hear the words!!
Closed Captioned is most important part of our life. The Hearing people do not realized and do not recongized that we need it every day. Please keep it on DVD.
We demand closed caption on everything, movie at theater or TV, and DVD so let us enjoy it with understanding. All hearing people always enjoy every moment on movie. Want all the deaf people do same. Be very fair to us
We pay our money, and it is vital that people respect others. If there is no CC, I wont buy the product, or watch the program on TV. There r many cable channels I have programmed my TV to skip cuz they rarely have CC on their programs. I watch solely CC programs on TV, and check DVD products for CC before I buy.
Captions are a necessity for everyone. This requires NO Brainer to make this available. The cost to provide the captions is a tax write off just like many other tax write off expenses involved to produce a movie.
I strong support them ! That is a wonderful idea and makes all of us equal as hearing people to understand any movies !
Thank you very much for your information and support Deaf community .
I am from Miami, Florida.
Thanks Martha .
Closed Captioning is very important for equal access to entertainment and programing, for the Deaf as well as injured or elderly. Please support this critical technology!
YES! YES! YES! we are the last group to be ignored and that we are "separate" group of our own and that we are not disabled. we need to change the mindset and thinking and that we are disabled and NEED closed captions for our tv/videotapes/movies as well as movie theatres so we can enjoy it equally as hearing people!
We,in the deaf community of USA would need to keep the closed captioned going on all VHS,DVD, ALL PROGRAMS ON TV to be continued to provide those captions , it does help us to improvise our grammar the better and also learn new words. we can understand what is all about in those shows of any kind, without C.C we would be at loss not knowing the whole thing in those movies. It is absoultely unfair to us hearing impaired people to live without the closed captions , I am begging you people to have a second thoughts to please keep the closed captioned going for our sake, it is a must for me to have the closed captioned on dvd, vhs and tv programs. thanks !!
I think that my deaf friends should have the same rights to watch movies on VHS, DVD or any other telecommunications/record ing media that I have access to by virtue of having my hearing. Closed Captioning will allow these people to have that access. I, as an interpreter, or any other interpreter should have a right as well to watch a movie with our deaf friends or relatives without having to interpret for them. We would want to be able to be enjoying the film/documentary with our friends and relatives without having to interpret the vocal speaking parts of our movies.
Reader's Digest do not have CC on most of their DVD AND exercises DVD such as Pilates, Yoga, etc. barely have CC...I feel it is unjustified because we deaf people are unable to receive same luxuries as non-deaf people.
We can't live without caption. How can we follow the show without caption. Some deaf people can't lipread very well on movies, etc while the actor are moving around. You try it without the sound and then you understand. This is 21st century.
hey, I have two deaf girls, and myself deaf, we depend on close captioned also it help develop children language by reading often, please dont remove. i think its worth it for everyone needs.
Common sense tells you to caption every one of those DVDs. Isn't it the government's responsibility to increase citizens' literacy skills? Not only it's for deaf people, it'll benefit ESL learners and people with hearing loss. It costs companies pennies to caption DVDs. The return is more customers. It cost more to advertise than it is to caption DVDs so get your thinking caps on.
Don't you want Americans to be more well-read and literate? This is not only benefit to people with hearing loss. It will benefit people with ESL. There are growing number of us. My family and I learn something new everyday from close captioning.... Please don't take that away from us.
Having captioned movies will help me to enjoy with my families and friends. Without captioned, I would have to depend on them to interpret and it's not fair to them because they can't enjoy their time with us. How would you like watching movies without captioned then I'd ask you to turn the volume off for the rest of your life for me?
i want cc to stay bec some of really good moive no cc iam dispoint i have ask someone what they said ..they tired to tell me what the moive said cant stop someof can they not want stop so i rather keep cc forever never stop please keep it on going cc bye have great a day thank you
As movie rentals are quickly changing from videos to DVDs, I have noticed that cc is much harder to access. Please change the way that DVDs are formatted. When renting videos all you had to do was turn on cc and you could watch the movie with no problems. Now watching DVDs you have to navigate through different menus which leaves many feeling frustrated and unable to access cc.
come on please be fair to handicapped also deaf and hard of hearing so Important to understand to read another children like to read too that why they are frustrated no closed caption. they will be anger any time. they know those movie producer having making million of dollars. we must use on closed caption from those money. that why we are proud of USA. Thanks tom
I would like CC to be at all movies. I do not like checking the internet to find out when and where the cc movies are and then end up it been cancelled. IT not fun. I hate waiting and the other people who can hear can go anytime without any problems.
Simple equal access for all of people even you will need it when you get older and not able to hear it and need to read what movie/tv talk about it. We are taxpayer and not much what we get it from society.
Please continue closed captioned on DVD Movies. I already was disappointed some DVDs were not closed captioned and did not rent any DVDs without closed captioned. Closed captioned is not only benefits to deaf population, but also benefits to any people who are losing their hearing, espically elderly baby boomers.
Thanks, Cliff
My hearing children love to rent dvd movies on the weekends, so I always and lovingly remind them to make sure and get the movies with closed captioning for me, their profoundly deaf mom, to join them and enjoy watching the movies with them. I cannot ever imagine non-closed captioned dvd movies.
When I was 12 years old, I was so thrilled when decoder and tty came in, it was neccessity for me to use. Can you imagine if government decides to remove volume feature from TVs? You can't live without it, right? So do we with cc. It isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.
i need dvd movie closed captioned because the airplane dont provide closed captioned so i use dvd player portable and put cd there and watch closed captioned to keep me busy to avoid afraid fly and focus on closed captaioned because airplane move dont offer closed captaioned please dont reduce or cut closed captioned on dvd thank you
Closed Captioning has fullfilled numerous of Americans the enjoyment of following DVD, VHS and Movies. The DEAFIES will FIGHT ON!!!! If captioning is taken away, then therefore the sounds ought to be removed from the Mainstream Hearing! Time to ensure a permanent law to provide caption for all!!!!
Guess what?! In SWITZERLAND, 3 languages - Deutsch, French, und Italian... and the people are not segrated by their languages. Examples here are: 3 languages could be found virtually in every circulation.. be it the local news... on the same page. Kino/cinema... all films are subtitled mainly in Deutsch language. They do not alter nor voice over in another langauge but added subtitles. I am ashamed of America for its backward existence of being inconsiderate. I have explored so much about this rich country and the Swiss people. I am impressed with them. You people should learn from them and put it to practice.
and while you DVD producers are at it, please caption the extra features ("making of...", interviews, the like). it's irritating to watch a captioned film on DVD only to have the rest of the extras uncaptioned ("road to perdition" and "gladiator" being notable exceptions).
Every hearing impaired needs CC to keep up with hearing peoples' world events. Now suppose hearing people movie makers decided to get rid of CC suddenly lost their hearing for some reason or their deaf child arrived in their family. Are they going to laugh or cry?
It's not fair to all of us deafies when we couldn't understand what the show was saying while the hearing people understood. We like to watch shows that make us laugh when it's funny or make us cry when it's so sad or make us nervous when it's scary with closed-capitoned on but if without it, how we will know it's funny or sad or scary except their actions but want the word expressions. That's the most important to us. So that's not fair to us if have no closed-captioned. They should be equal the same with hearing people. So must have the closed captioned on all on DVD's, VHS's and others. Very simple!!
I feel we are not counted as equal and im frankly sick of it we are deaf not stupid and we enjoy tv just like the hearing people do
time we allllll take a stand and speak up use our hands as our voices
I'M HARDING OF HEARING AND HANDICAPPED I REALLY WANT DVD AND VHS HAVE CLOSED CAPTIONAL SO BADLY BUT I MAKE ME SO BORING WITHOUT CC THATS WHY AND ALSO THEATER AND DRIVE IN MOVIE MUST HAVE CLOSED CAPTIONAL, TOO!! THANKS!!!
There are millions of hearing people with hearing loss, including the hearing impaired and deaf people in USA. You might be one of them someday so please be considerate to place closed captions on all DVD movies for us.
Even hearing family members appreciated the captions and will give them a break from interpreting to me of a show that has no captions. I think ALL channels in cable should have captions too!
