Should keep on Closed Caption Cuz We can't hear , It's not fair for who can hear and not think about Deaf People can't hear .. It's very important for everyone to read and Improve language and words... Thank you!
I offer you for needing the CC on replacement old silent, history, occuration mystery stories and old cartoon film for DVD Movies. Many bargain dvd movies are cheapest under 75 cents for no CC.

I AM DEAFNESS AND I MUST READ CLOSED CAPTIONED FOR DVD MOVIES BEC I CANT HEAR WHAT THEY SAY SO I CAN READ CLOSED CAPTIONED ON ANY DVD, VIEDO TAPE AND TV ALSO.. MOST IMPORTANT IS FOR THE DEAF PEOPLE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ON CLOSED CAPTIONED ON DVD!! PLEASE. THANK YOU DAVE
What!! I cannot imagine how our two deaf small kids without CC, it will not help them in improving of reading skills as well as english skills by read them every day. To my past days, I am deaf, I have always said that I wish that I had this opportunity to read so I can have good english. Right now my english is not that great. Please do not ever think about shut down our deaf viewers with possible of improving their reading/english skills!
please let the closed capitoned stay on because it is good for deaf and hard of hearing can read what the tv show said on it. If not it will be no good. go closed capitioned go!! Thanks Gail
It is very important for Deaf many people could be able to read the closed captioned , if it not for deaf that is Unfair for Hearing know more everything than any deaf ppl can't understand what they are talking about anything and Deaf People Must know what it talk about when the closed capitoned are on , so deaf ppl would know whats going on during the bad news or warning from any News announcement like CNN , I hope for Business or Who produucer to making DVDs or Movies or News etc ..who would accepting for the closed captioned becasue it is real IMPORTANt for Deaf and Hard of hearing could be able to read & understand what it is all about .
PREFERABLY KEEP ALL TV SHOWS, VHS, DVDS TO BE KEPT CC..MY DAUGHTER IS DEAF AND IS LEARNING ALOT OF NEW VOCABULARIES..SO IT S WORTH IT. PLUS HEARING PEOPLE CAN USE CC IF THEY LOSE THEIR HEARING. SURE WISH MOVIE THEATERS HAVE CC SO IT WOULD BE NICE TO GO OUT OF THE HOUSE INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THEM TO COME OUT ON DVDS OR VHS WITH CC. NEED CC FOR SPECIAL BULLITINS LIKE WEATHER WARNING AND ETC!!!
TV shows, movie theatre with movies, DVD, and VHS tapes must all be captioned so Deaf people will have access to those shows. It is our turns to have an enjoyment to watch instead of hearing people having their own enjoyment. All Deaf people need to know what those actors, actress or storylines is all about so they can understand what going on.
I can not imagine my wife not having subtitles on her DVDs she scours the stores in Holland for English subtitled movies on DVD/ with out it she would be quite isolated, I do hope the US govt realizes this and puts some pressure on the manufactors that produce the DVDS..
The Dutch Deaf and Hearing benefit from the AMERICAN films because they are subtitled in DUTCH for them, so every DVD should have ENGLISH SUBTITLES AND CC on them for every person to enjoy!! Tot Ziens !!!
It is an excellent tool for those who enjoy to learn to read and understand what movie is about. It also helps to make both hearing and Deaf equal in communicating.
We always wanted all DVD movies and TV shows or News even in Theatres too should closed captioned No fun watching any movies or show without cc like hearing people have no fun watching movies without sounds or voices. I have been frustrated with Canada Film like Sullivan or any forgein countries don't put cc for deaf or forgein people who learn English as their second languages It is true we can't live without cc. Reading is key of challege and improve language skills
I am deaf, my husband is also deaf. We must have closed captiont to enjoy movies, tv shows. One major disspointment is that the outdoors shows wont have closed captioning.. we enjoy that alot. Please dont take away our right to watch tv with closed caption. Thank you
Iam an American living in Holland, and 98% of the TV programming is in Dutch.2% of it is in English Subtitles, with out DVDs I would be very very lost,who cares about the BONUS FEATURES on DVDs. all I care about is the MOVIE itself and thankfully there is a language choice on DVDS and of course I pick ENGLISH.. problem is DVDS are not subtitling/captioning as much as they used to on VHS tapes,there is so much missing,, maybe if the movie producers realize we want to know the contents of the movie like hearing folk do we may get it too !!!!!!!!
I love to watch tv programs and christain programs with closed captioned. I would refer fot the closed captioned at top instead of bottom on christain programs, so I can write down name of book with chapter and verses, thanks.

I think this is a very worth while petition. I am a third grade teacher and see a need for this. Many of our children will greatly benefit from the use of closed caption. We have several deaf children in our district and use closed caption when ever possibel.
CC is an important tool for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. More and more people are losing their hearing due to damage done by too loud concerts, MP3 players, etc. They will want CC when they become deaf. Profits require purchasers. Why buy a product you can't use. Serve the deaf community now and be prepared for a much larger deaf community in the future. Foreward looking companies will thrive. CC does help deaf people improve their reading skills. CC is a win-win!
