The public may be at risk, especially other bus passengers and drivers. Even though the youth offenders have been restricted from riding the bus, as youth offenders they can not be named. It would be impossible to know if they rode the buses or not.
Our Justice System is at fault. We need tougher laws to make sure that violent people like this are charged with murder, not manslaughter. And are not let out on "secret bail" no mater what their age.

I support this petition. Our 17 year old son was shot by a Young Offender in April of 1994. This little killer had 3 armed robbery charges, a stolen vehicle charge and was SUPPOSED to be in the care of his parents. He was out on bail, killed our son with a stolen handgun. If he had been in jail at this time for the three major offences of armed robberies, our son would be alive. NO, he was on bail and proceeded to shoot our son. We don't believe our system works and does these young offenders any good by letting them out on bail in the care of their parents. They know how to work the system and bail conditions mean absolutely NOTHING to them. Our son was killed 12 years ago and the judges are still giving these young offenders the right to do anything they want. Another example is the Rolston boy from Sherwood Park, Ab. murdered just before Christmas this year - same thing, those young offenders were able to get out on bail for Christmas. What kind of a Christmas do you think the families of the victims are having?? Our system is set up to rehabilitate the little bastard criminals and get them into society as quickly as possible. What is it going to take to shake up our Justice system - perhaps our Judges or the Minister of Justice needs to have one of their family members murdered. Examples of discipline have got to happen - they know they will never get anything so these young offenders have absolutely NO RESPECT for the law or for life.

They had admitted to their crime when they turned themselves in. How can they now say they are going to plead not guilty? I work In a cottectional facility centre now and I see the likes of the little pukes every day laughing, they learn nothing from their mistakes, when they get out it is just a matter of time before I see their laughing faces again. The prisons should all have revolving doors for all the repeat offenders that we as a society allow bask on our streets, To bad that Mr. Conley had to meet his death this terrible way but if this will change the laws in anyway , Amen to Will Conley.
