Regardless of the sides of the story or all details that were not presented (ie: the victim attacking one of the boys) thier response was brutal, excessive and resulted in murder. Since they are unable to forsee the possible consequences of thier actions/ violence, I do not beleive that they should be released into the public where, if consulted, they could possibly react violently again.
I find the judge's desicion to let out these juvinile deliquents out appalling. Our justice system really failled Stefan William Conley, his families, friends and the rest of us in the community. What's giong on in our societies today? Who is the victim here? Ifeel that our justice here in Canada is a joke!!!

I would support this petition if all the facts were available. It is my understanding that the boys were released on their own recognisance due to the facts that were presented in court. I would think that if the Judge had any concern whatsoever of these "young offenders" being a menace to society there would be some type of monetary bail imposed. Because they are young offenders the general public is not privy to all the facts. I have been told that Mr. Conley attacked one of these boys and held him pinned by the throat and the others came to his rescue. Another side of the story, and as I said, we don't know all the facts only the courts do! The media is trying to create a frenzy which they have succeeded in doing and we are reacting to only what they wish to expose.

I hardly find it fair that these kids are out walking free, especially considering that there were witnesses to their crime... yet other people charged with murder that had no witnesses have their bail revoked? What the hell? These kids should be behind bars! It's time us citizen's of this city/country put our foot down and insist our justice system start taking this stuff seriously! As a son of a driver for ETS, we are all hurt with the brutal murder of Mr. Conley. We should be scared to continue riding a safe transit system, we shall keep our heads up and go on with our lives, just as mr. conley should still be doing right now.

I am a mother and grandmother who takes the bus ONLY when I don't have any other alternatives.I have seen students just trying to get home from school get beaten up and adults threatened when they tried to stop it.The language they use referring to their parents, teachers and their peers is filthy.The bus drivers will ask them to settle down and they tell him/her to "f... off".I have seen the looks of other adults on the bus who want to say something but are too afraid.I am one of them and it has bought me to tears that I am so fearful of a bunch of juvenile deliquence.Last year I contacted Edmonton Transit, City Counsel and the City Police in hopes that something like this would not happen.I was told that nothing could be done.Why should young people have the right to run the streets and terrorize the adults (who cannot protect themselves because "these are kids"}while the adults don't have the right to feel safe in their own city?I'm ashamed that I didn't stop a fight in which a boy got beaten up at the bus stop but I was to afraid they would go after me and my eight year old grandson next.It's time to take our authority back as adults.All "kids" need to know that when you commit a crime like this you will be treated as an adult.It makes me sick to my stomach to know that these boys are at home,watching t.v., enjoying moms home cooked meal, while Stefan is no longer with us to enjoy time with his mom!

I support this petition. Even a 5 year old has some degree of moral judgement what's is right to do and hurting a friend in his kindergarten is wrong. These four kids sure they know what they were doing at that moment. Nowadays. a lot of young people and kids like to pull another name to blame when they are caught for doing something, however, they really have to learn that "you have done it, you responsible for the consequence but not to blame someone "so and so started it" or "so and so did it to."
