I support this petition. People need to be accountable for their actions - especially at this age! They think they are invinsible. By this age, they should know where to draw the line - Murder is not ok.
Keep these animals in a cell where they belong. No bail means - no fun and no games or no more joy killing. Give justice to the living. If they were of legal act and murdered a child. Would they then be given bail or a trip down a dark lane. In prison these lads would be trained in a week to wear a bra and aswere to the name bitch.
I support this petition. These defendants have proven that they are a danger to society!! They are dangerous people who have killed!! We should not be exposed to them!!
I support this petition. Young adults must be made to understand and accept the responsibility and the cost for their behaviour. They took a life for no reason other than it may have pissed them off to have someone tell them to stop doing what they were doing. I wonder what they have learned from their parents, not much obviously. All of them are potentially our future leaders (Not these four anyways), god help us all.
I support this petition., let the public know who they are so we can keep our children safe and so the bus drdivers can keep this criminals off our transit system.
I do not support this petition.
I believe that all people should have equal rights and putting people in prison takes away their rights. Plus, prison makes people mad at society when they get back out. The answer is not to provoke people, then you will not get beat up. People who "commit crimes" need help and should be given extra privileges to ensure they can succeed in life and to ensure they will not want to hurt others.
I support this petition. If their parents lack the knowledge to discipline them, I think we should at least try to make them fully accountable for their actions.
I support this petition.I feel that these kids should not have been released.By releasing them it sent a message to other kids that it is ok to do things like this, they will only get a slap in the face. If they lived in the USA they would have been put in shackles.
I support this petition. The violent nature of this act, with wanton disregard for life, deserves an appropriate penalty. Youth of today must learn the law of "Cause and Effect" and take full responsibility for their actions.
I support this petition. These kids should be given a dose of their own medicine. If the court let them get away with it, then it won't stick to their heads that what they did was morally wrong. What kind of parents do these kids have ? They should feel what the family of this man feels right now. They have no remorse at all.
I support this petition. Their bail should have been at least a million dollars each. I would really like to see the Young Offenders act changed so that at the age of 16 all crimes are deemed adult. I believe 7 years old is the age of reason. They have no excuse for what they did so why are the courts being so lenient??
I support this petition. Immaturity both in mind and age cannot be an excuse for killing a man. If you are bold enough to make such a decison as to BEAT SOMEONE TO DEATH it is absolutely inexcusable to hide behined the 'young offenders' act. May they face the consequences rightly deserved and for once may our court system set a solid example of punishment. A simple slap on the hand will NOT do.
I support this petition. What were we thinking of with this Young Offenders Act? So far all I have seen is a bunch of kids that litterally know they can get away with murder. A slap on the hand.
I support this petition. Those boys (or at least 1 of them by the smiles and smirks in court) have no remorse or feelings for the unfortunate victim.1 more slap on the wrist! pathetic
I support this petition. they kids should have to suffer just how the family is. people will get those kids and make them suffer but the difference there is they are not inocencent and they won't be killed, but they will know how it feels. and i hope they do.
I support this petition.
It sickening that human life means so little, not only to the people that took the life but to those who feel there shouldn't be a punishment for it.
I support this petition. I think that these "children" should be tried as adults. They committed and "adult" offence, while and if their parents can't teach them right from wrong, then perhaps some real time in jail will.
I support this petition. How can a judge not deny bail based on their ability to do so with 1)risk to public (my understanding is this was a vicious attack by many on one person-how does this Judge define risk? and secondly- to uphold the public's belief in the Judicial System- this is INJUSTICE at it's finest.....
I've seen people held in custody for longer periods of time - for way less of an offense. They killed someone in front of witnesses, and it's innocent until proven guilty? The justice system really needs to take a good look at the way they are being percieved by the citizens of Edmonton. Youth does not give you a free ticket to stupidity.
