I support this petition. Society has made it easy for our children to disrespect life and property. As minors they are not held responsible for their actions and the law is too leiniant. I believe that cases as hanus and brutal as this one should not be treated lightly. That 30 year old man also had family and was probably a productive member of society. What a shame. Society as well as the court should set an example by setting stricter laws and point and pointing it out to our children that they will be held responsible and accountable for their actions and descisions.
These boys are old enough to make responsible decisions. the decision they made to harass and attack another human being was irresponsible. To fully iunderstand the impact of what they have done they should remain in custody until trial.
I support this petition. At least they turned themselves in - too bad their show of morality was too little too late. Somehow as a community we need to teach boys to be men...not sure jail is the way to do it - but we have to teach them this isn't the way to deal with conflict.
I support this petition. Our justice sysyem is too lenient. These kids need to learn some values, and pay for their actions. Ultimately in this regard, they had to have known right from wrong. We need to stop feeling sorry for the assailants, and more for the victims and the victims family.
I support this petition. I believe these teens to be potential repeat offenders and they should have their rights to freedom revoked. To brutally beat a stranger to death is inexcusable and appalling! I feel for the Conley family and wish them speed in their recovery and may Stefan’s memory last a life time.
I support this petition. It is about time that the young offender's act be removed and stop protecting the criminal. What about the victim & families & their rights. I say bring back the Death Penalty. Those who commit such crime does not have the right to have a life of their own when such behaviour of violence takes another human being life. What type of justice system do we have in this country to tolerate such crime.
I support this petition. It is so wrong to let them walk away. You do the crime you should pay the crime...Someone died and it is wrong...It also shows that it's OK for teenagers to get away with crimes...
I support this petition, and feel they should be tried in adult court. They were completely aware of what they were doing, and calmly walked away when he was dead.
I support this petition. Lessons taught at an early age are lessons kept for life. To say it wron but its ok because you are a minor? Wrong is wrong and the law should apply to all.
I support this petition. It is a shame that no one wants to take blame for their actions. The victim in this case is the one who suffered and we do everything in our power to accommodate the criminals. What a sad country we live in.
I support this petition. I have 2 small children and I am determined to raise them with self respect and dignity. I have done my best to instill in them the value of respecting everyone in their environment and have diligently instilled a sense of responsibility when it comes to respecting authority. These are values that I feel are important for nurturing young people into healthy, functioning adult memnbers of society. It is societyies turn to take the same approach. We have long sat by and let young people destroy what generations have worked so hard to build, VALUES! If young folks like this get away with such a haneous and criminal act then society has joined their parents on the side of failure. The entire consideration of granting bail to these young people is appalling. What am I supposed to teach my kids...you can do whatever you want because you'll get away with it? If these boys were grown men, this would not even be an issue. When children commit criminal acts they should be treated as criminals! Enough with the attitude of allowing our children to desicrate our society in the name of freedom and equal rights. What about the rights of the victim? When I was a kid I didn't have equal rights! This is not a question of bail or no bail..this is a question of right or wrong!
I support this petition. Its a shame that the parents of these kids most likely had no idea what their kids do and with whom...the kids behavior starts with the parents...this is a lesson to all, be involved with your childrens lives!
I support this petition. Our world is full of individuals who think they can use aggressive and violent means to deal with conflict. I observed on TV the friends of the four accused laughing and smiling outside the courthouse seemingly unconcerned and unphased about what happened. It seems to me that teenages can do and say whatever it is they want without reprisal. Positive parental influence is lacking. The justice system is weak and out of step with the realities of crime involving youth. Society, perpetuates a culture of violence. Start at the root of the problem. Raise your kids right, and a horrbile thing like a man being beaten to death on a bus won't happen.
I support this petition. I believe it is past time we stopped pampering and overindulging kids - who just grow into irresponsible adults. Society has a lot to answer for when 4 kids can decide to kick someone to death and still get bail. I consider them dangerous and they should be kept in jail till the court date
