Just another fine example of Canada's "slap on the wrist" justice system. No wonder we are a haven for terrorists and criminals, etc. These "wanna be try hard thugs" should get put on a transit bus all alone with this poor man's friends and family. Canada needs to regain our backbone and free our title as the gutless country who caters to criminals.
I support this petition. No wonder our police can't do anything they get the offenders and right away they are turned out on bail. If at 16 you can hold an adults drivers license then they should be accountable for the adult offenses they commit and serve and be tried as adults. A child of 8 knows what is right from wrong. so sheould they.
I support this petition, it's just so sad for society that we feel we have to voice your option of what we feel Justice is because we don't feel like we are represented by the Justice System. One group of kids gets away with premeditated murder (leaves a party and returns with weapons and then get out for Christmas) so no deterent for others to be held accountable for their actions, especially if you are under 18. If attacking an unknown person on a public transit system is not a show of "A DANGER TO OTHERS", then I can't think of any case where this clause would apply. Maybe if our JUSTICE System would show some backbone and use true justice at the beginning of a kid's criminal career, less would continue on that path and fewer would follow that path.

They're not going to be so tough when they get thrown in jail, and they get the crap beaten out of them. These jerks are going to get what's coming to them. They knew exactly what they were doing at the time. This wasn't an accident.
How can u give bail to someone who kicked a person to death. What was going through these kinds minds when they were brutaly killing a person. No bail and trial these kids as adults and give them what they deserve.
I think they should learn what it's like to suffer the consequenses of their actions and not think that in life they can get away with anything with a lawyer on their side. Forgive them after they've served their time, but keep track of them...

I ABSOLUTELY support this petition. I think its time for our politicians to seriously review the Young Offenders Act - I think the judicial system is "handcuffed" by that Act insofar as what it can or cannot do. There is no punishment handed out or consequences of any kind for anything anymore...not at home...not at school and not in the community. But, oh, I forgot, these are all "GOOD" kids whose "smiles can light up a room"!! It's a sad, sad state of affairs!!!
