So I guess killing people is o.k now? We in the Western World think some of the tactics used in some other countries like firing squad etc are too harsh, but atleast it might make somebody think twice. They set the precident now, and killing is ok.

I support this petition. I think our justice system is a joke, esp when it comes to serious crimes and the punishment they receive. And the youth offenders act is an even bigger joke, if they are old enough to do the crime, then they should be able to do the time, and shouldnt have there identities hidden. The Canadian gov't really needs to do something about our judicial system.

I Believe Alberta/Canada, Needs Harsher Penalties for criminal acts. If a person kills someone, i say, Lock them up for life. OR send then to texas. Let them deal with them. I Find it horrible, that they laughed in court, i know, who the 4 teens are. I have been around them and they dont care about what happens. They are dishonest and dont deserve to be wandering the streets.

The justice system, if we may call it that, continues to fail victims across Edmonton and Canada completely. Not just by the release of suspects back into society, but also with the absolutely pathetic sentences handed down to those convicted. How can four youths that beat a man to death on a bus be charged with manslaughter, this is plain brutal MURDER and should be treated as such! As for the supporters of the "four", so very shameful and disrespectful, perhaps they need to suffer the same tragedy in their lives. Clould this be the reward we reap from removing the right of parents to discipline their children properly, we end up with a generation that have grown up with little to no discipline not to mention a total lack of respect for people and their property.

10,000 - 100,000 Bail? Is that all life is worth these days is up to 100,000 bail? Steven Conley is dead, and 100,000 will not bring him back. A 35 year old man stood up and voiced his opinion and now there will be no future for him. What about the children he may have or to come? What will they be with out a father and what about the children that could have been? What future would they have brought to us? Cure for cancer?

If any of those people would have stood up to help this man, he would still be alive today. I believe that they are all accesories to the crime, especially the driver of the bus!

Lock them back up. They don't seem to understand ,or care about what they have done. The families including there own that they have hurt deeply. Thought they were big men...until reality set in...now surprise surprise they want to be little BOY"S.Cowards comes to mind. They know that way they won't go to jail or take any resonsibility for actions. Why did the parents not take the time to raise responsible, caring and moral young men. Our criminal justice sytem needs to set an example with this case in order to help encourage the general puclic to believe that the accused and guilty will be held responsible for actions taken.

As far as I'm concerned, playing video games and hanging out with friends in the COMFORT of your own home is not punishment. Nice Legal System.

I don't know why these teenagers attacked this man. But, i do think that it is immoral and unjust to use violence as a means of resolution. The severity of the attack, in itself, is proof that these individuals do not have any social or moral conciousness. What are we saying to them if we let them roam the streets while awaiting their trial? It's okay to murder someone, as long as you are in a group of 4, and are under the age of 18.

I come to realize just how unreliable our justice system is over the years. They are constantly allowing dangerous offenders that are in clear conscience of what they are doing out to explore freedom. The same freedom in which they take away from their victims and the families, as well as the public who fear for their own safety. And why are they allowed out? Oh because they are too young to realize that beating someone to death is actually taking a life away. We live in a world that is constantly compensating for people and their actions because of something as silly as age. Send them off, who cares about them, we don't need them around. They knew what they were doing, lets all hate them and hope they burn in hell.
