The NY State Comptroller completed an audit of a Fed Govt grant to the Hudson City School District. They found misuse of grant funds and inappropriate payments to Dan Grandinetti a city of Hudson govt. employee. From a casual read of the NYS Comptroller's report Mr. G received "payments of $7,500 for services,which were not approved in the Grant." Also there appears to be some money laundering going on with the City of Hudson Youth Department receiving Fed Grant money and cutting a check back to Dan G.

They "found that the District did not implement appropriate internal controls over the administration of the Community Service Program Grant. Inappropriate payments were made to a community member(Dan G) totaling $7,500, for activities not consistent with the original intentions set forth by the Grant. Also, approximately $50,000 in expenditures for which the District was reimbursed were not relevant to this Grant, and therefore should not have been submitted for reimbursement. Finally, we found that over $3,400 of equipment purchased with Grant funds was not in the possession of the District. Our findings related to the use of Grant funds have been referred to the Columbia County District Attorney."

We urge the Columbia County District Attorney to review the report and make her findings known to the taxpayers of the HCSD and do her job. We demand accountability.
