It has come to my attention, that there are certain schools that have allowed Dance Dance Revolution (hereafter called "DDR", which is the commonly used abbreviation) into their gym programs. A further description of DDR is as follows: This is a video game where you actually move your body and feet to play. I can tell you that there has been many, and I mean MANY cases in which people have combined DDR and a healthy diet to lose weight and all those other pleasant/healthy things. I have read a few articles like that, and that inspired me to try DDR. Well, that and my I wanted to be better than my friends. Because I like doing that. Anywho...if gym teachers would offer this as an alternative to the regular gym curriculum, more students would be getting exercise, as I seem to know people (including myself, I admit) who refuse to dress for gym because they dislike the program. There you have it. You can make people happy, and keep your stupid programs as well. Yes, it will cost money, you retards. Oh but I'm sure you can afford it.

I support this petition because its reasons are legitimate and I feel strongly that DDR can help school kids lose weight while having fun during phys. ed.

because I know from experience that gym classes can often be boring, or repetetive, leading kids to cutting class or slacking. Schools are very sports-oriented, but what about students who don't play sports, who prefer alternative exercise methods? The music is loud and has an excellent beat, making it attractive (along with the flashing lights and the "gameplay" aspect) to students of all ages. It promotes cardiovascular health, strong muscles, flexibility, rapid movement, eye-foot coordination, and having fun... an excellent game to promote good health!

Oh yes. Let's make this happen. I've seen a lot of adults who are against this, they think putting video games into schools is only going to encourage sitting at home doing nothing but playing video games. They also think that this will prevent the develop of social skills. But I don't think that's the case. DDR is such an interactive group game that I don't see how we couldn't develop our normal social skills, and if kids start playing DDR at home, where's the problem? Then, not only will they be losing weight at school, but at home too. Where's the negitave side?

I support this petition.HECK YES! Anywhooo,if fundraising is needed, there is one easy thing you can do-Candy.Oh,god.I brought a measily little box of fundip to school to help my brother raise money for his eagle scout thingymabob-I was nearly jumped oO' 50cents for one pack, and mom only paid four bucks for the entire box.Now I just got mehself a "varaity pack" with skittles and mnms and crap, and we have a huge garage sale thing tomarrow -smirks- Anywhooo, buy candy in bulk, and pawn it off everywhere.Makes for a great fundrising thing,ddr-centered or not.

I think that DDR in schools in a wonderful idea. It gives adolescents a time to work on physical skills while also having fun and getting into what they are doing. i support this 100%. i do think that we would need a fundraiser though. thank you for this wonderful idea

I think that it should be in schools, I have fun playing a game that is exercise and I don't even really relize that I'm burning calories well having fun. It would also be nice to have it in gyms since it is a fun way to lose weight.

I play ddr, and.not to brag, but I'm pretty good. For someone who looks as tall as a sixth grader, when I'm 13.I get B's on A(which pwns all,by the way). But that's besides the point-ddr is probably the only thing that keeps me from being some lazy fat -------.You /do/ get serious workouts on it,especially when you start playing heavy mode. Our school's ghetto,so they're talking about getting some cheap-o really crappy immitation thing, but I'm telling them me and one of my *cough*rich*cough* friends will chip in on the real one.Maybe make an after-school ddr club with it,and use it in those little cycle things. As of now,the only reason I dress out for pe is because my mom fumes when she sees that such an easy grade comes out as a C-But who wants to play football, when you can doodle and chat w/ friends that have hillarious stories about putting whip cream on their boyfriend{which she's planned to marry when they turn 20,and is currently up north 'cause his father died}?So,simply, ddr /motivates/.Use your brain, ghetto UPMS.Do us all a favor and use those diminishing brain cells!
