Deny Beer License for North Richland Hills Chuck E. Cheese's

Created by Tiarra Flemings on 27 March 2007 @ 2:40:44 AM

We, the undersigned, are emphatically opposed to the sale of beer at the Chuck E. Cheese's location at 7935 Grapevine Hwy, North Richland Hills, TX.

This franchise is known for and advertised as an establishment for children, where they can run around and play. The sale of beer introduces several problems into that environment.

1) The beer will be sold on tap in clear open cups just a few feet away from the very crowded prize redemption counter. Beer can easily be spilled on children even before the patron can get to his/her table.

2) While there is a 2 beer purchase limit per patron per day using the drivers' license as identification, there is nothing in place to stop someone of legal age to purchase beer for another patron who has already met their limit. This could lead to overindulgence and possible drunk driving, with children in the vehicle.

3) There is no rule in place designating where beer may be consumed. This means that patrons can take it into the game areas where the children are running around. If a cup is left unattended, unsupervised children may drink from it.

4) While only employees aged 18+ may sell the beer or clean up afterwards, they still have the ability to pour leftover beer into paper soda cups with tops and drink it later. Patrons, in the same manner, may leave the restaurant with beer in hand. This action would be very hard to monitor in this very crowded facility.

Overall, we believe this is a very bad choice for our children and we ask that the license request be denied.

99Beth LeonardAn establishment designed primarily for the entertainment of children has no business selling alcoholic beverages. Our family will not return to Chuck E. Cheese should alcohol be permitted. It seems that the management of this company has lost sight of their customer base which is families with young children. Sad!
98MarirosaIf beer or any alcohol is served I will never take my children there again....

96Lindythis is a place for kids, not for alcohol!
95Cynthia HenryBeer does not belong in a children's play place.

92Stephanie LockwoodIt is for children to play. It's not a bar. Let's not make it one. Doesn't anyone want to protect the children anymore?
91Elaine Hogan
90melindaThey need to keep the beer out its for kids not adults.
89Brittany LilakHow sad! The true Chuck E. Cheese standards have now dropped! Who are you kidding? Chuck E. Cheese is "Where a kid can be a kid" right?! I don't EVER remember the million dollar slogan stating, " Chuck E. Cheese is where an adult can get a buzz!" or "where parents can escape with booze" or "where child molesters can have a beer while watching young prey"!...Yes of course that is extreme but it is also reality. BOTTOM LINE= I will leave you with this....By serving alcohol at a nationally recongnized chain that caters to young children, you are putting our future leaders at risk and risking the potential of many lawsuits. It will never be worth your money. Take your creative team and lead them back to what Chuck E. Cheese really means to kids and adults alike. Be the unknown hero when all other business is going to crap. Take your money and spend it in areas that will make every good parent want to bring their child(ren) back over and over!
88Lisa IsabelleWe will not take our kids to CEC if they sell alcohol. It is not a pub! It is for children to have fun.
87Laurie ThompsonMost of CEC's patrons are mothers with school aged children. I believe you will offend a bigger portion of your clientel than you attract.

85Lisa Evans
84Tamara HowatI will not go there if alcohol is sold. Alcohol & children don't mix. Where are your morals & sense of decency?
83Teresa AguilarChuck E. Cheese is a family restaurant geared for CHILDREN. Adults should be able to do without alchohol long enough for their IMPRESSIONABLE children to have an enjoyable time without the influence of adults drinking (think of the message this sends!) AND IT GIVES MORE OF A CHANCE FOR A SAFE DRIVE HOME AS WELL!!
82Dawn SmithI will not go there anymore if you serve alcohol
81Chuck NorrisDon't provoke Chuck to roundhouse kick you in the head!!
80Craig BeallI hope the CEC Corporate office will step in on this and is not supporting this for all locations. When a family oriented business turns on their consumer base it will almost always mean doom. This will not only effect NRH CEC, but all CEC's. It seems that family oriented businesses such as McDonalds have done quite well without intoducing alcoholic beverages to their establishment. I hope CEC will reconsider this poor decision.
79CINDY WOODARD
78BethBeer and CEC just don't mix!
77Carlos AntolineThere is no such thing as responsible drinking. If an adult would like to have beer, let them consume it away from my children.
