Please do not cancel The Black Donnellys. The show had me riveted from the pilot to the most recent episode, and is better than literally everything else currently on the air. The writing, acting, and production are all first-rate. This is truly excellent television - don't make a huge mistake, NBC.
NBC- this is the best show on your station. I have not watched nbc in years (except for the news) because of the lack of creativity. However this show changes everything and is the key to a new, refreshing vision for nbc as well as increased viewership. Don't you want to catch up to abc and fox(stations I never used to watch until your station became too boring and predictable)? Save this show before it is snatched up by a cable network and will bring them success instead. You should see by going on fan websites and from this petition how many people love this show and look forward to monday nights because of it (I would go as far to say that it's way more enjoyable then 24, which used to be my favorite show until The Black Donnellys)! And not even all the fans post! Keep this show around and let Paul Haggis and Bob Moresco continue to work their magic!!
The show should stay on! Definitly a fantastic story and just needs a little more advertising. It appeals to a younger and bigger audience then any of the stupid law and order or csi shows could!!!
Do not cancel this show ABC!!! Put it on another night and keep it there if you want to. The SHOW isn't the problem, your network is!! Maybe do a little advertising and the ratings will pick up. All I can say is "DUH!" It's like a bunch of kindergarteners are running a business.
Please, keep the best show on television on!
Please do not cancel TBD, this is the best show we've had on tv, its made me switch from fox to NBC, and im completely addicted to this show, i go all week looking forward to mondays!!! well, and Tommy Donnelly :)
The Black Donnelly's is the best show I have ever watched. I was big into 24 when it came out, and still am, but this show is more realistic, and I can anctually relate to Tommy in ways that I never done before with television. This show could be a TOP viewer, with a little more time. Don't let it go! The rewards are coming!
This is by far one of the best shows on television. It deserves a chance. NBC, you can't disappoint millions of us. It just isn't fair. There's enough "reality tv" full of fakes and posers just looking for their 15 seconds of fame. There's no passion behind that. People already have MTV for the drama. Let us viewers keep our show and let the world believe that accomplishing a dream is not just something that exists in novels. Let the world believe in a dream.
This show is far too well written, made and acted to be taken off the air so soon. I honestly fear for what the world would come to it all smart shows like this were taken off the air and replaced with reality shows. I am not typically an NBC watcher, but this show has had be planted firmly in front of NBC for every single episode. Please re-think this action.
Save The Black Donnellys! It's original, smart and well-acted - something you definitely WON'T find in most other programs out there. No more reality TV!!
This show needs to stay it is the best drama on the networks. If anything I'd be moving it up to 9 o'clock. Don't let a great show get wasted away get rid of studio 60 its lame as ....
TBD is one of the best shows besides Heroes. Law and Order, Identity, Wedding Crashers, those type of shows do not hold me like those 2 shows. If you were to advertise The Black Donnellys like you advertised Heroes, then I believe it could pull big numbers.Look at what Fox did with Family Guy, or whats currently happening to Smallville on the CW...on for six seasons yet the numbers still aren't that incredible. You can move it but don't cancel it, give it a second season to catch on. Without Sopranos, this will and could be everyones fix.
If TBD is being cancelled due to ratings, I think the rating system should be reviewed, as well as NBC's head of programming.
The number of first time posters should give NBC an idea of how passionate a following this show has.
Anyone remember Cheers? almost cancelled after seaon 1. History.Very few TV shows are as well written and have rich characters as TBD. Just for your marketing and advertising dept, I'm a boomer, 57, and hope you re-consider the fate of this fine show.
NBC has become the Ford Motor Co of free TV.
Before Black Donnellys I was never a regular TV watcher, with the exception of Heroes, but now on Monday nights I don't even watch WWE Raw like I used to. I'm stuck on The Black Donnellys and the possibilities the future could hold for that show. Tommy's rise to power, Jimmy's nuisance. The conflicts, plus you need to have faith and allow Haggis to work his magic. Please do not cancel this show. If you want to chop a show, kill Medium or Friday Night Lights or something else. Please this is quality TV.
The Black Donnelys is the ONLY show i watch on Mondays. I mean this show is sooooooo good, that i rewatch it online. Everyone i know loves it, its just that at first they didnt know it existed, but once they do, WOW you should see the excitement when Mondays come along. The anitcipation is incredible. I mean come on a show written by such Great writers demands a longer stay. Not just 1 season, but alot of them.
finally a show that shows a little irish heritage instead of another italian mob show. dont cancel it. give it another shot, hell maybe try a little more significant advertising.
How can they cancel it! This is one of the best new shows of the season, and it is getting really good! If it is canceled by NBC I do hope someone else picks it up and cashes in on NBC's mistake!!!
This is one of the best show this season. Why won't you give this show some time to grow. This is quality entertainment that is being cancelled too soon.
NBC - don't be stupid, none of us want to watch ashton kutcher's show after Hero's. Where on earth did you get your demographic analysis from, they need to be fired.
This one of the only shows I will make sure I catch every week.
honestly one of the best shows on tv...if america had taste this show would be in the top 10. Therefore NBC show you have taste and keep one of the best shows on your network!!!
"The Black Donnellys" is high-quality entertainment. If given proper time and exposure, it could become a very successful asset to the network. The Irish faithful across this country want this show to continue!
I can't believe this show is being cancelled!! Who is the head of programming at NBC?!! You had a great lead-in with Heroes, but premier this show when Heroes is on hiatus, and now replacing it with another mindless cheap reality show...Please, give me a break!!Save this show!!!!
First Studio 60, now The Black Donnellys? Perhaps if NBC would give a show more than 5 minutes to find an audience, they would fare better. The Black Donnellys is a breath of fresh air in a landscape full of ridiculous reality shows (The Real Wedding Crashers? Come on) and procedural crime dramas. The Black Donnellys is one of NBC's best shows. Do you really think it's in the network's best interests to cancel it?
As everyone else has already said, you need to keep this show. Network TV sucks for the most part and this is one of the few (2) shows I actually watch every week. If you do get rid of it, I hope someone else picks it up.
The Black Donnellys is the only good show on NBC. It has drama, action, romance, and comedy. It's the only show that is aboout breaking the law and not doing what the shows like "Law & Order" or "CSI" are doing. Plus if they cancel it now they haven't even really given it a chance. It might work a little better on a different day. Do you really think people who watch "Deal Or No Deal" every week will watch a show about the mafia. Now that "The Sopranos" is ending we need a good mafia show. And it's about time that they did one on the Irish and not the Italian. If it gets taken off the air, lots of people will be disappointed in NBC yet again. Do not take it off the air!
Instead of cancelling it altogether, why not move it to a different slot? Apparently, Monday nights aren't working well.
If moving it doesn't help, then give it to another network who can do some good with it.
Please consider the actual fans of the show.
This is stupid NBC. Your network is tanking behind the other 3. You need to take chances and give The Black Donnelly's a chance. The Office didnt catch on until its second season. Why would you axe the only other show your network has? Its the best show in years and you are robbing potential viewers of quality entertainment.
With all the garbage you have on your network right now, why are you cancelling one of the few shows with some depth. Not to mention, you didn't give it a fair try. Did you HONESTLY think that the same audience would watch the Black Donnellys and Deal or No Deal? Honestly?
Save it
You're just teaching us all to avoid new shows, and doing yourselves in, NBC. At this rate, nothing you put on will grab an audience.
Who wants to get hooked on a great new show, only to have it pulled? Please save The Black Donnellys, and restore our faith in your intelligence.
The Black Donnellys is the best dark drama TV has had to offer in a long time. I'd even venture to say it's better than Sopranos. Canceling TBD this early in the game would be one of the most asinine moves NBC has ever made.
The show is right on and not crap as some might think. The characters are just starting to really gel and the story line is becoming more and more interesting as the series continues. The time slot does NOT help the ratings I am sure. TV viewers expectations are too high for what in essence is quality programming. The Black Donnelly's should stay on or move to a better slot on ABC or CBS. Take that NBC Devouted fan and I am Irish Catholic :)
