I would like to think this will make a difference. I'm telling everyone I know, but it's not a great timeslot and network TV needs instant gratification.
Here's to trying!
I also support freedom for cheese. Please stop keeping the cheese captured in those suffocating plastic wrappers. Cheese are people too. Oh wait, nevermind. Save the show. Yeah that's what I meant.
I have seen the last two Donnellys and I thought it was gripping, dark, fascinating, character driven drama, the likes of which we rarely ever see. Its unfathomable that NBC will not give it a chance.
The black donnellys is the best show on TV today. Please don't take that away from us. I've been waiting years to see a good show about a tough Irish family and you've given us an amazing show. Give it another chance, with stories this good, ratings have to go up!
What the hell is wrong with you NBC? The Black Donnellys is one of 3 shows good enough that I absolutely HAVE to watch each week. As soon as Heroes has ended I'm boycotting NBC!
I would hate to see this show go. If NBC cancels it then I'm gonna stop watching NBC period. The black donnelly brothers gives us an aspect on what life is like and it's the best show I've seen in a long time. So yea just don't cancel it please.
I love the black donnellys,it's is comming to sweden at the end of the year, This show is for the Irish worldwide not just the U.S. remember The Boondock Saints floped at the boxoffice but gained Cult status worldwide.. don't let this happin again.. Support the Irish.. and save the black Donnellys.
Where are the brains running your station. When a good show comes along that people enjoy TV does everything to cancel it. Don"t you want people to watch TV. I wonder what the sponcers think about this?
TBD is probably the most intruiging show I've seen in a while. Every other show like this is about the Italians. Its nice to see the Irish point of view to it all.
How can NBC cancel the one show that has the greatest potential to compete with ABC and CBS drama powerhouses with a little bit of committed promotion. YOU have Kate Mulgrew and a stellar cast with acting chops for crying out loud? AND, IT IS ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING! Very short sighted. Keep it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or, I'm done with any new show on your station until it has its footing. I'll watch the Season 1 DVDs.
This is one of the best shows on NBC. I am in shock that it has been cancelled. My husband grew up with a family in Queens, NY just like the Donnelly's (he actually thinks this story is based on them). The cancellation of this show is just wrong! Find some other crappy show to cancel - and there's alot of them on the NBC these days.
I've been in love with this show since before I even saw it. The (very few) ads I saw for this show drew me in, and I've been hooked since the Pilot episode. NBC, you CANNOT cancel this amazing show. Maybe stop advertising Heroes so much and put some advertising money behind THIS show. The word is spreading, and the fanbase will get bigger! You're not giving it enough time to have a chance!
Best show ever made! The ratings are fugged! You dont take account of how many people that get together and watch this show. and all the downloaders. dont forget us! Paul Haggis rocks!
If NBC cancels this show then that's it. They're smart enough to keep 30 Rock around, why wouldn't they extend the same thing to TBD? If they actually go through with the cancelation then I'm boycotting them. I'm sick of this demeaning reality show bullshit they put on in an effort to dumb down society.
In my household we were SO excited after seeing the first episode of TBD, it is fresh and entertaining and it sucks to hear that it will be replaced by yet another reality show especially in such a short life span.
One of the best shows out. TBD & Heroes would make a wonderful night of TV. Please don't do a lame reality show. Give us a good storyline & good acting.
This is the first show since the "Friends" era that actually keeps me wanting more.I look foward to watching it every Monday night. NBC really has showed that quality programming is of no importance to the network. As long as low budget high rating Reality shows continue to make them money, the fans of true talent and entertainment suffer. This very well could have become a classic show with a big following if it had only been given the chance. The acting and writing talents on the show were among the best on the air right now and its a shame that it is being replaced by a talentless charade that you could find on any other desperate network. Beware NBC...I do believe you are becoming the next CW. (But if thats what makes the $ I'm sure we'll hear no complaints.)
Too often is good drama pulled because it doesn't show immediate signs of taking the world by storm. Taking it out back and shooting it now would be like killing a baby because it hasn't made its mark on the world 3 months after its birth. The Black Donnellys is a slow burn; it's already captured the hearts and minds of multitudes of people outside the Nielson ratings system and through internet sales. Give it time (and a decent timeslot), and it'll start a blaze.
COME ON, NBC. How can you even think of cancelling such a high quality show? Why can't you just accept QUALITY over ratings, for once? I guess, I'll just have to watch "The Shield" to gain my weekly fix of excellent television.
NBC finally puts out a fine drama series that appeals to straight white ethnic men, a series that makes no cheesy/preachy left-wingnut political statements, and portrays the Roman Catholic Church as a positive force as well! I was as pleased as I was surprised.
Now I hear that the network wants to cancel the series.
Perhaps if the writers have the cast make anti-Bush comments each week or add on a lesbian character, who expertly balances her professional career with raising her artificially inseminated baby, then NBC would keep the Black Donnellys on for the next five seasons.
Give me a break NBC, I can no longer stomach your Law & Orders or your ER. If not for this show and Medium, I would never tune in.
this unoffical survey results will be sent to NBC in hopes of getting at least the last episodes of TBD on the air. h t t p ://theblackdonnellyssurve y.blogspot.com
I need at least one gangster show now that Soprano's is done. With some nice payoffs to story angles this could be a really great show, better than it already is.
i look forward to my monday nights, and one main reason is The Black Donnellys...which i have been watching every freaking week! if you cancel this, i am done with you nbc...
thanks
Press the panic button again? First Studio 60 doesn't destroy the competition and now since this doesn't either, you're already canning it? IT's absolute crap, forget crappy reality TV and let this show play out - it's been all of what? 6 episodes???
First Surface was cancelled, then Vegas moved to Friday. Will NBC ever leave monday nights alone? I'm not going to bother with getting involved in new series' on NBC if this crap keeps up... and IT IS "CRAP"!!!
NBC this show is gritty and entertaining it makes me excited for Monday nights, I honestly can't wait to see what will happen next. This is my absolute favorite show on Television, and losing it would be a horrible misfortune...
NBC, I understand the position you are in, trying very hard to bring new life into your network, and yes, ratings matter very much and The Black Donnellys did have very meager ratings, but it was GOOD. Critically acclaimed by many, it is unfortunate that these raves did not translate into ratings, but what you have in your hands is a solid show, the last 2 episodes, I'm not so sure about, but they weren't bad. I can't say that same about Studio 60 (I also saw every episode of it), the last half of it just got awful. This show DESERVES a chance, let is finish up its season, if it goes below 5 million viewers, ok, that's just pitiful and you should cancel then, but until then, give it a chance. Perhaps play it over summer? A time slot change is in call, not the friday night death slot, 8/9pm is better suited for it. If the incredibily unfunny knights of prosperity can last 9 episodes, this show deserves at the very least to tie that number. Will a replacement show really do any better?
