Recently, a video was released for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, which put the world in awe. It was an awesome video and in it several new characters were featured, one of them from a third party game. Nintendo then announced that they were considering other third party characters.


The genius behind the game, Sakurai, soon opened a poll on SmashBros.com allowing people to submit characters that they'd like to see added. If they were a good submission, Sakurai would post their comments on the site.


Sakurai chose many good characters to consider, some of which were Geno, Sigurd, Ike, Lip, Little Mac, Kalas, ect. However, one character this genius is considering is a bad choice. This character is Sora.

Sora is the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. He uses a keyblade and is joined by Donald Duck and Goofy to complete his quest. Quite original, I'll admit, and Nintendo likes original things. But the problem is that Sora is not a predominate Nintendo character. He's not even neutral like Sonic currently is! He started off on a Sony console, he had a spin onto the gameboy, and then he went back to Sony again! But that was enough for the Square-Enix fanboys to attempt to get their guy in Brawl.

Now, I, Jay W.(Known as Kafeithekeaton on forums, and Dhaos on YTMND), a loyal Nintendo fan, a Fire Emblem fan, and a Tales of Symphonia fan, have seen Nintendo go through its ups and downs. I have seen which companies are trustworthy, which ones are neutral, and which ones are backstabbers that don't have any honor at all and live by the almighty dollar. Square-Enix is not a company with honor. They left Nintendo in 1996 to join the competition, release games like Final Fantasy X-2 and Crystal Chronicals(which were clearly a way to make an easy buck) and then release Kingdom Hearts on the gameboy. Now they're getting their character considered for Brawl.


Sakurai, if you're reading this, I am sorry. I personally think that you're a genius. I know that you are independent now, but you were trusted by the great company known as Nintendo to make SSBB great. And while I may be a Nintendo fanboy, I'm staying within my grounds here, and debating for Nintendo on their grounds. And while I'm not a big fanboy of Square-Enix either(I run a site called "Lloyd Owns fayt". We joke around there that Lloyd Irving from Namco's Tales of Symphonia can beat up Fayt Leingod from SE's Star Ocean 3. We're not really rabid fanboys, we just like to play around. Although some SO3 fanboys don't think so. But I digress.), I'll admit that Square-Enix has released good games, and that it is perfectly logical for you to want to add one of their characters, just not one that's not predominatly Nintendo. Sora is not a good candidate to add to Super Smash Brothers Brawl. By doing so, you will upset Nintendo's fanbase, who are the ones that actually care for Nintendo and not just a series of 3rd party games. Please Sakurai, do not cut characters from melee only to add worse ones.
