I am infull support, as i am with a turkish guy and all this red tape to
marry him is ridiculous, it makes something so special a nightmare and very
expensive, it is discrimination and unfair |

I am falling into a very real depression for the first time in my life due
to the stress of being without my fiance. We have followed every rule in
the book and are getting nowhere. All we want to dis plan our wedding after
5 years together but the embassy wont let us be in the same country to even
do that. |

i agree, why do thy have to cause so much hassle. its difficult for all of
us but the embassy do not seem to understand that. there are lots of asylum
seekers coming into the country but its more difficult when we actually
follow the procudure. its ridicilous. |

i agree!!! my fiance has visited england on a visiting visa which was
valid for 6 months, he stayed for 3. when he applyed for the same visa the
following year he was refused because he stopped longer than 2weeks!!
wheres the sense in that!!! we are getting married this year, and are going
through all kinds of personal things to prove we are in a genuine
relationship and the stress of it all is unbelievable - something needs to
be sorted! |

I travelled to turkey for the 1st time last year and I was extremely taken
by the good manners, sense of humour and charm from the turkish people
(men, women and children) why not let them experience other parts of the
world! there not savages!!! good luck to them becoming members of the EU
thats what I say!!!! |

Joleen Medlycott 2007-01-26 23:13:12 |
Turkish boyfriends should be allowed to visit without feeling like a
criminal. How can a relationship work when the government will not let
people be with the ones they love |

8yrs together, 4yrs marriage, 2 children, 1 miscarriage and still those
people at the IND don't believe we are a genuine couple!! How can
strangers judge our or anyones relationship from a bit of paper? So much
for our human right to live in our country with those we love. I hold a
british passport and have less rights than those who dont. Good luck to
anyone going through the ridiculous process of immigration, we wish you
well. Dont worry, your love will prove them wrong!!!:) |

Had 2 years of waiting, refusals and appeals trying to get visa for my Wife
and Daughter - I'm British, she's African. Why do we have
to suffer such heartbreak when all we want is to be together? Yet there are
so many asylum seekers being given everything they want at our expense ... |

It's ridiculous that these women have to go through such a
complicated and often unsuccessful application process in order to have
their husband with them in the UK. It's time that this situation
was reviewed. |

explain themselves. How can some paperwork show how much you love
somebody!? |

I am lucky in that my husband got his visa, but I still think the ECO
should treat all applicants with respect (my husband was told off for
smiling when he showed his wedding photos at the interview). Also all
applications should be considered on their facts, not on the ECO's
(sometimes) biased opinions. |

I find it really upsetting that the government can hire an admin company
like Setur to make decisions about my life, my future. If you can provide
all of the evidence needed to prove your love/loyalty on paper which is
even more stupid your husband should be allowed to have his visa and join
you. |

I think we should at least let turks visit our country for holidays! That
way even if we are planning to move to turkey then they can come and see
our families and our way of life! |
