We Request that the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) employ commercial advertising for the rating system used by the computer and video game industry. We feel that this would raise the awareness of the general public of the ESRB system and what the ratings mean. Doing so would further help parents in making informed decisions before purchasing new software.

I am a gamer and I support this. If they do this, then there will be even less excuse for parents to whine and complain. The ESRB may not be accurate all the time but they are at least a good guideline.

For heaven's sake, I support this. I would appreciate ratings on the games so I and parents can responsibly understand what sort of content exists in games.

it would be nice if people wouldn't be stupid about the raiting system (even though it appears self-explanatory)and didn't have to make excuses about games and how you didn't know they had the content it did speaking of content Violence in videos games doesn't affect people's behavior unless they are simple minded and stupid. Heck turn on god-mode and infinite ammo cheats and you got some nice therapy for people with anger issues.

Would be nice for them to shut up about how they knew nothing about the game's content.

So many people would be so much happier, if Game Stores had Rating posters like those in movie theaters.

First off> Stop pissing off everyone by just naming GTA for all the horrible games in the world. It is bad, but there are others. Second. Parents: as stated before read the labels. They are there for a reason. Im not signing this to say that the sale or purchase of videogames is bad, only that when a parent spends $60 on a game, they should know whats in it before watching their child play it and getting all mad.

I think that this is a good idea, as many parents are clueless about these guidlines, and buy videogames for kids that are not appropriate for their maturity level.

because in this society that is anything but pristine, parents cluelessly and carelessly buy videogames for their children that have extremely adult content and gratuatous amounts of violence, but it is ok as long as it is not sex. That is rediculous. Sign this petition and educate yourself and your community.

little kids need to get the f*&k out of the gaming market. Step further- place their gmaes in separate isles in stores. I don't need to scan through twenty Spongebob games to find my Castlevania. Libraries sort by "Children's" "Young Adult" and "Adult"- is it so hard for Wal-mart to do so?

the idea makes complete sense and its the way the ratings should be shown.

Parents need to be educated and learn to Read the Ratings. But since everyone is too busy to read and just become ignorant, maybe a full blown advertisement will get some of the information through. It is bad parenting and bad moral upbringing that cuts our society down. It needs to stop. And this is a start.

I so support this petition. Come on, the parents need to READ the RATINGS. They're the main problem that gamers are usually thought to be relentless insane killers. Come on, all you have to do is look at the back of a box to check the rating.
