I support this petition. Yesterdays officiating made a mockery of the game. What is the point of having instant replay if an obvious botched call can't be overturned due to some loophole in the rule book. Even if the play was ruled a pass the ball went backward, hence a lateral and also a fumble. The NFL should be embarased, this could very well end up costing the chargers a playoff berth.

The point of Instant Replay is to ensure that the correct calls are made and the deserving team win the game. This did not happen in this case. If the NFL wants to continue its fine tradition of fairness and an excellent level of play, these types of officiating gaffes should be addressed immediately. Referees should be instructed to wait to blow their whistles in a situation where the call could be in doubt. There also needs to be a mechanism in place to allow for technical difficulties with replay review, which cost the Chargers another possesion early in the game.
I support this petition and feel an investigation needs to take place. This did not seem like a simple mistake. Faulty equipment? Blowing a whistle during a clear fumble? Sounds like the NBA isn't the only organization that employs referees to rig the games.
I support this petition fully. This was the worst call ever made. Hochuli's whistle had no impact of the true outcome of the play on the field. It's not like they ran the ball back down the field. He fell on the ball and was down/rolled out of bounds.
What a complete disaster!!! There were multiple instances of terrible officiating in this game, but most egregious was the 4th quarter "incomplete pass" call. He robbed the chargers of a well-deserved comeback win. I support this petition.
Chargers won the game. It doesn't matter if Denver did two point conversion to give Charger the chance because if Mr. Hochuli didn't blow the whistle the game already ended at that point. This is just not right! NBA and MLB correct the issue why doesn't the NFL do the same? because they don't condoned cheating. That is sickening!!!!

I am a Chargers fan but I do not support this petition. Hochuli screwed up by blowing his whistle, but there was really nothing he could do afterwards. The rules on inadvertent whistles are pretty clear. Sorry guys, but signing a petition isn't going to do crap. Maybe if one of you crybabies had a time machine...

First there is a pseudo fumble by San Diego that “could not be reviewed” that leads to a Denver touchdown, and then that horrendous decision on Jay Cutler’s real & undisputable fumble, that San Diego recovered with a little more than a minute left in the game….
The National Football League is losing credibility about as fast as the NBA did when the public learned that they had at least 1 crooked, gambling referee who was deliberately affecting the outcome of games, to include during the playoffs.
This travesty could end up costing san Diego a postseason berth, a divisional championship or even a 1st round bye in the playoffs and it seems as if everyone else in the league is accountable for heir mistakes (coaches get fired, players get benched, traded or simply released) except for the referees who may get a meaningless “reprimand” and then continue to officiate important games, often times ending one team’s entire season on questionable calls or inadvertent whistles being blown at inopportune times!
