Dear Amer, If you want to get our warlord's attention, you'll have to do better than that freedom-loving little paragraph you just wrote. Try mentioning the opportunities for wealth in Egypt; that's sure to catch his eye. Sincerely, Chibot: peasant of Empire America

Please write to president Bush and the US Congress. His email adress is president@whitehouse.gov Dear President Bush and The U.S. Congress: I am an American citizen from an Egyptian background and I am writing to you because I am deeply concerned about the safety and the well being of the American People as well as the Egyptian people. I am writing to you representing a good segment of the American -Egyptian as well as the American-Arab to express by concern about the lack of democracy and dictatorship in Egypt in particular and in the Arab world in general. President Mubarak of Egypt is by all measure a modern time dictator who suppresses his people in order to stay in power as long as he lives and putting the seeds for his son to succeed him. He is presently determined to run for the 5th time unopposed for a referendum for the position of the president of Egypt and you can stop that from happening. The United States with your leadership can and must do something to establish democracy in the Arab world and Egypt is the best place to start. I kindly ask you to do everything possible to make that happen for the safety of the Egyptian people, the Arab World and the American people. I firmly believe that democracy is the most important way to fight terrorism.

I am writing to urge you to take immediate steps to secure your place in history as the president who broke the cycle by not staying in power until he dies. I urge to conduct an open election for the presidency of Egypt not connected with any party and enforce the constitution of Egypt and immediately suspend the emergency rule that governed Egypt since you took office. Some people around you may make you believe that all is well under your rule which lasted more than 20 years and it can’t be comprehended that this is a true democracy. If you believe that you are the best president for Egypt can have, please give the chance to the Egyptian people to confirm that in an open and fair election. Please let history record that you are the founder of the true democracy in Egypt by letting people without fear and intimidation vote as of whom they want to lead Egypt. Please establish democracy while you can.
