I am concerned with the unnecessary steps taken to protect America from the horrors that Cuba has caused toward America. Cuba has existed in isolation for 50 years and this petition is designed to end this embargo. I am concerned that the continuous embargo is hurting the economy of the United States. I feel that there is no longer a valid purpose for the trade embargo other than the idea that it is tradition and that Castro is still in power. I urge all Americans especially those in Washington to stop focusing on petty issues and focus on the end of a period of isolation. End the embargo if America wants to move back to its place as the beacon of world and national prosperity, and not simply an isolationist colony, bent on destruction.

If the embargo was lifted, the Cubans would have a higher standard of living. The could tase the fruits of capitalism and have a higher standard of living. The embargo hurts the people, not so much the Cuban gov't.

because i have been going to cuba since i was a 8 and every time i go i always hear castro say on television that the problums in cubua are all americas fault because of the embargo am tired of him blaming it on us if the US was smart they would end the embargo so that the people of cuba could see that its not the embargo its their president. Thanks to this embargo it is our fault that cuba is still communist because it gives castro an excuse so that he dosnt look like the bad guy and poeple agree with him

Personally i believe strongly that the embargo should be lifted. The expansion of communism is no longer a threat to the United States and by preventing Americans from journeying to Cuba it is a tyranical method of keeping us from experiencing alternative governments and their benefits.
