The sexism has to stop all the woman abusing men with there words.the poor men. =( The guys work so hard at a factory for 15 hours and the woman thinks cooking dinner for them is sexism. women are meant for cooking and sex. mmmmmmm sex. you can cook after we bang honey. oh yes.
This type of ad hominem attack injects a poison into the body politic of the United States. It is sad, but true, that these attacks have been given the green light by the media at large. Randi Rhode's (Air America) comments were made at an Obama sponsored fundraiser in San Francisco. Obama has not deemed it worthy enough of him to come out against and denounce these attacks because it largely serves his purpose. I am asking, demanding, that the media and talk radio take a hard look at itself and realize that they are largely to blame for propagation of bias and sexism in this election.I am disgusted by this.
I have listened to Air America since it started. I no longer can listen to Stefanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, Ed Shultz these people are way over the top. The only show that I do listen too is Brunch with Bernie Sanders. Which is only 1 hour a week. You guys are losing listeners.
We decry the treatment of women in third world countries while we allow verbal and psychological abuse to be heaped on women at home. Words do count, and this has to stop.
i am appalled at the rampart sexism as exhibited by randi rhodes at an air america sanctioned event. i expected more from air america, but i guess they just don't get it either
Women are the only majority minority. How can that be? And sexism is virtually ignored.
Most disgusting of all is that Air America is included in this. Makes you wonder what progressive organizations really stand for.
I have stopped listening to ALL AA programming since before Christmas. Slowly, I could hear the partisanship turn toi cheerleading for Obama. I don't blam the hosts for supporting a candidate. They're citizens too! But the shows have turned into radio ads for Obama and bash parties for Clinton. I want them to talk issues. there are differences despite what we're being told. I want Obama's record scrutinized just as they've done Clinton's. His politically history in Chicago does not represent change or hope.
For our daughters and in memory of our mothers, we women over 50 must remain diligent in these high profile candidate times when we ironically find ourselves under ever more active gender attack. Now is the time for all women to come to the aid of the best and most experienced candidate for president DESPITE that she is a woman. Her gender does not reduce her merit. If anything it enhances it.
I am appalled at the way women are being treated on the radio. We need to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Please stop the misogyny in radio just as you do not tolerate racial remarks. Thank you, Barbara Payne
There is no place for misogyny, derogatory, degrading comments or hate speech on the radio, tv or other mainstream media outlets. The right to free speech is a treasure for all of us to hold dear, and not to wield abusively. There are ethical standards in the communication industry to which all involved should be held accountable. Being nasty and mean towards certain women or all women is unacceptable.
Randi Rhodes is a symptom - the problem is far deeper. Randi Rhodes, virtually every other Air America Radio host, and most of the so-called progressive blogosphere (particularly MoveOn.org, DFA, DailyKOS, and HuffingtonPost), should be censured and boycotted for their vile, disrespectful and unjustified mistreatment of Senator Hillary Clinton. DNC Chair Howard Dean is at greater fault for silently assenting to a media atmosphere of rampant misogynist attacks on a Democratic Presidential candidate, fueled by organizations that would be guided by his leadership, including the Obama campaign. The untenable sexist behavior by Democrats toward one of our own has disgraced our Party and driven a wedge between the Democratic Party and its most devoted supporters, women.
Enough! Just stop the hate words toward women. The hatred of women in the US is unacceptable. Randi Rhodes stepped over the line -- but she wasn't the first. What was worse was the audience gave her a positive response and egged her on for more hate.
In 2008 sexism is alive and flourishing. When a candidate for the POTUS frequently engages in sexism, and gets away with it, we as a nation suffer. Stop the sexism now.
Anyone who perpetuates the assault on women on the radio should be fired - not simply suspended. I will not support any advertiser from any show in which this is allowed to continue.
