You people in power, please look the situation of farmers above all. They are desperate because of lack of good governance. But you are boasting that you did a lot for them. But this is unrealistic. That is why almost all of them were balloting against you. Therefore why not you accept the reality and leave the place for the winner and let the ethipian people evaluate the new comers in their term. And hence if they fail to fullfill their promise, like you did, people will outcast them. That time you will come back with innovative ideas. That is Democracy which many developed countries do.If you have real commitment, this is the simplest action that ethiopians can exerecise.Let us wake-up.For how many years we will be first from the bottom in every aspect of development
The EPRDF regime has shown the world its brutality and vengeance by taking a desperate measure of shooting unarmed peaceful demonsators of Addis Ababa to cling to power by scaring and frutating people like the Derg.
The Ethiopians have unlimited soverweign rights to in democracy, under the rule of law, without feer of the regims.
Ethiopians hav suffered more during meles zenawi that any other previous regims. Therefore if the west i.e. under President Bush and PM Tonny Blair wishes stabibility and free from terrorism should unconditionally accept and support the Ethiopian opposition parties, CVUD and UEDF. Otherwise the people of Ethiopia have the right to find new friens elsewhere who are not confortble with the West.
Thanks in advance.
Mr.Blair and Mr.Bush. I beg you in the name of the God you worship and the one you so often publicly proclaim. Please, for once, see through and beyound the double standard the west has so often employed to frustrate its REAL suporters in Africa. Please help us achieve true democracy in Ethiopia once and for all. History will remeber you and the Ethiopians may even name a whole city after you - they have memories dating back 3000 years and do not forget easily.
thank you
The refrundum of the Ethiopian people for change must be respected. The the people gave to UEDF and CUD must be respected. The Meles Regime has lost. It must bow to the wish of the people instead of continuing its repression against the people and members of the opposition.
Ethiopian have spoken on May 15, 2005; for peace to prevail the peoples verdict should be respected. Don't let Meles destroy Ethiopian dream. Mr. Bush, if I remember it correctly, during one of your nation address you said that "America will stand by you when you stand for your liberty. Ethiopian now stood for their liberty we need America to stand with us.
Mr.president and PM,the Ethiopian people need your help in building democratic and peaceful Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian government has once again proved to its people and the whole world its committement to rule the people with force.
We ask your government to be on the people side not on the dictator government.
The Ethiopian people have already voted.Let's respect that
The Albanian communist turn capitalist is duping the west again. This time as new born ‘anti terrorist’ when in fact the very history of his financial backing throughout his existent has always been questionable up to this very day. Instead, please look at the Ethiopian history and religion and discover where the asset to fight terrorism truly rests; it is with the peace loving Ethiopian people. And it is that base of 70 million people who overwhelmingly voted against this regime on May 15 only to be muffled with the barrel of a Gun. If you want a time proven ally against terrorism, stand with the Ethiopian people who are the true champion of this cause, not the opportunist Meles regime.
What the current Ethiopian government is doing is a make believe democracy at its best duping the international community. Give the Ethiopian people a chance.
It is a disappointment to see Melese still in power, for the world to witness the destruction of a nation. I believe the civilized world will be responsible to what happens to Ethiopia in the future if Melese stays in power.
it is not uncommon to see the violation of human rights and oppression of ethiopian people by the woyane regime for the past 14 years.what surprises is his(Melese's) cheating of the western world as a whole to beg money in the name of democracy.that begged money is used to kill innocent ethiopians.so,are the western enemies or allies to the ethiopian people?

We all have to work together to attain the right type of governance that we lack at the moment. With an appropriate administrations we hope to get out of poverty. So let us give the chance to the will of Ethiopian people. Let us be unite and fight to throw away dictators. VICTORY TO THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE!!!
Democratic rights should be to The Ethiopian people also. The current rigem has lost the voice of the people. Now the rigem is using gun like former once.
President George W. Bush & Prime Minister Tony Blair must act on it.
thx.
I would humbly request USA and UK governements to closely monitor the so-called democratization process underway. This, I believe will enable them to investigate what is really happening on the ground. Please use every means on Meles regieme to follow the rules of Law and abide by them especailly in regards to the recent election.
Stop supporting and financing Zenawi regime. By now you have to know him that he is anti Democracy and a very good example of dictatorial regime. With dictator we cannot implement democracy in Ethiopia. The people of Ethiopia have said No! No! No! Zenawi regime. I do not understand why you need Zenawi! If you really stand for democracy listen to the Ethiopian people. Respect the Ethiopian people voice.
I think US and GB need to give priority to the interests of the general public, a real base to fight terriorism even from their view point, rather than dictatorial rulers against the framework of their policy on democracy ans good goveranance.
Please Test Meles With his Democracy giving him an assigment to perform our request seriously and profe practical they we ethiopian will elect him for the next time or among us now
I strongly ask the international community, especially, America and Europe to think twice before giving their blessings to the Meles regim. For the first time the Ethiopian people has choosen its own leadr. Please help the oppressed people and inforce the Meles government to respect the rule of law.
I only ask The President of the USA George W. Bush and The Prime Ministre of the UK Tony Blair to listen the cry of the innocent Ethiopians. You have the power to help. We only need your help to safeguard the peoples' vote. You need to act accordingly before it is too late for the outvoted group in power to respect the peoples' vote.
What is the point for Mr. Bush to give 15 bln. To help Africa for HIV, if he can’t stop a government who is using HIV infected people by spreading it purposely to murder his on people
"Their heads are shaved with the same blade with all others to intentionally subject some detainees to HIV/AIDS killer disease"
You next to the all mighty God world leaders Bush & Blaire how can we appreciate your patience and reservation not to interfere in our internal problems? Because while we started excersing our democracy right and said let us start to bring our leaders through the civilized way election card not by fighting each other in return what we got is bullet and loosing our life. I don't think in the 21st century we have to go to forest and become "Gorella" fighters and ask you weapon aid rather we ask you to show your power verbally to our "leaders" who are not respecting people voice. All most 90% of the Ethiopian people are saying the existing regime enough is enough give chance to others. Please before the worest comes save this country and its people.
Dear President Bush and PM Blair, you must take some time to rethink about your stand on Ethiopian politics. I can not understand what your interest really is! I can not see you are addressing your interest too. You must understand that Ethiopian basic problem is only dictator regimes, not to mention that of the present ruling party. As to the natural behaviour of the people, Ethiopians more than any people are very much cooperative and respect Humanity and natural rights of mankind, even at the expense of their interests if you want to see at personal level. The long year experinece of living together among peoples of different religeon and ethnicity could be a very good role model for the rest of the world, eventhough the present ruling party is trying to break such a value. The world could rather benefit from such lifestyles. Any step going against the interest of Ethiopians means only an intention directed to put the people in a hardship, with no any benefit to the rest of the wold but even with costs of lossing at least what Ethiopians could have contributed. Therefore, I would suggest Mr. President and PM should change your attitude just at this very moment on be half of the people and the present and future values of your choice. You must not accept the false words of the ruling party leaders while majority of the people voted for the Opposition parties.
I thank you for your understanding,
Feyisa
I think, we all have reached on a common mentality that politics is not for politicians. Rathere its for all of us especially for we ethiopains. Because, who ever is on power, it is determining our life. So we all benefit if we join together.
I strongly condemn the EPDRF aggression againist the people of Ethiopia and againist the opposition supporters and leaders. The recent accusation of opposition leaders by the government is a clear manifestation of the governments subversive plan of stealing the voice of the people and diverging the issue of election fraud and the killing of innocent people in to other unrelated fallacies. We know the opposition did not incite any violence, we know the opposition did not arrest thousands of Ethiopians, We know the opposition did not kill -- We know who is responsible for all these crimes.
Presenent Bush and Prime minister Tony - While I realize you have other urgent and pressing issues you are currently working on and your time is to be spent working for the people who elected you ie the people of the USa and Britain - I begg you to share your wisdom and time for the people Ethiopia as the Ethiopian people are at a cross road and danger.
A little help now when it is really needed is much more beneficial than a tone of help when it is not needed as much.
Appreciate for your concern and assistance.
S.Alemu

Don't you mind for poor people ?Don't we deserve real ademocracy?

Mr. Blare and Bush, Please understand that we Ethiopians have the right to elect our leader just like the people of your countries. We shouldn’t be denied of this right. When you clap to our dictators they shot on our heads. There shouldn’t be a place for dictators in this planet.
It is the real nature of the regime to fabricate lies and throw those who oppose to jail in order to stay in power for ever.
"Please do not show my e-mail address on your page"
Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair, I think it is time for u to understand that your strategic interest in the Horn, particularly on terrorism, will be protected when you are with the people of Ethiopia, NOT the tyrant and the killer Meles Zenawi. Make your choice and take immediate actions!! Respect the choice of the Ethiopian people!!
It is encouraging to learn that Ethiopians the world over are expressing their outrage of vote-rigging and persecttion of activists. The momentum should contine until we declare"mission accomplished"and turn it for development single-mindedly.
Mr. President Bush and PM Tony Blair, the Ethiopian people are crying for justice and good governance in their own country, unfortunately the person that was palnted after the May meeting of 1991 in London is still killing, imprisoning torturing and harassing supporters of UEDF & CUD members every day after the EPRDF government was defeated by the two oposition parties. We Ethiopians living abroad and inisde are peaceful and hard working people. Please use your good offices to save Ethiopia and Ethiopians from "Pol Pot" type dictator. Let all prisoners of conscious and supporters of the opposition parties be released without any condition from the dungeon and in human prison immediately. May God help you to deliver our messages that Ethiopia needs now more than ever is a Government for all to avoid breeding unwanted enemies at the time of world turbulence.
GOD LOVES THE GOOD MAN, BUT HE HATES THE EVIL PLANNER AND HIS PLAN.
Dear Prime Minister Blair and President Bush, Is it undiplomatic and unpatriotic to call Meles Zenawi, a Dictator a Traitor and Child killer? I hope not. The kinds of terrorism Meles and his henchmen are committing in Ethiopia are cruel, illegal and inhumane to say the least. The threat or use of violence, often against the civilian population, to achieve political or social ends, to intimidate political opponents, or to publicize grievances must not be allowed in this 21st century. Hence if Mr Blair and President Bush ignore the Ethiopian people’s sufferings that are intentionally created by this dictator, traitor and human butcher, God shall confront Meles Zenawi soon or later over evils he and his cronies have done to our people. Then would the EPRDF Police and their savage Agaazie Brigade arrest or shoot God on that day too? They would probably try? But they can’t win. Please stop supporting evil and its demons.
I appel to the western leaders, especially to those of the united states of America and Britain, to help us stop tyrany and state sponsered violence against opposition leaders, their members, and supporters in Ethiopia.
I also want to ask these western leaders to urgently realise that if any of the opposition leaders get hurt by these ruthless and reckless government forces at this particularly difficult moment, the country may unfortunately slip in to chaos and anarchy with grave consequences. This obviously will not be in the best interest of any one including the west.
May god save us all!! Amen!1
The West seems to have a hang-up on terrorism in the Horn of Africa. You mistakenly assume that Meles is your hancho man to maintain peace and order in the region. In reality, he is disrupting the peace and order by rigging votes, mowing law abiding and peaceful citizens, stifling their democratic and human rights and now the ploy to mercilessly and unjustly harass, imprison and finally get rid of their Leadership in whom the mass have bestowed their trust and fate. What a wise policy of strategic importance this is?
Mr. President. Martin Luther King had said: "in the end we will remeber not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends". He also had said "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" Dear Mr President, it is unbeliveable that you can ignore this kind of atrocities in Ethiopia and after both your inaugural and state of the union speech.
Mr President were these just "words" or did you mean them?
Democratic nations should not wait until a dictatorial regime like that of Meles does such illegal acts against leaders of the opposition parties who have not commited any crime. The criminal is the Meles regime and it is a pity that the western powers who vowed to support struggle for democracy to sit and see what is happening in Ethiopia.
Alemayehu
Ethiopia is in need of great help. A help that transform its people to great opportunity of peace and democracy. Please be part of this by standing with the people of Ethiopia not with dictator Meles Zenawe.
This is really too much for the international community to accept. Unfortunately, the Ethiopian people cannot do much, but if they would have their say, they would not accept this.
The trampling of the basic rights of the any individual let alone an opposstion leader is destroying the fabric of society thus eroding the trust of the common man on a public institution of great import--"the justice system." There can be no excuse for this act; This despicable act of opportunism will surely be held accountable. No one dare ignore, this fact—least of all.
It is true "It's dangerous to be right when the government is wrong." VOLTAIRE (1694-1778)
Having realised a total defeat at the May 15 election, Prime Minster Meles Zenawi has disrupted the ballot counting process, declared a state of emergency and mobilised the armed forces in order to cling to power through terror and violence.
