If they had realeased ffvii when the ps3 came out i would have asked my dad to let me take the camper and stay in the wal-mart parking lot no matter how many weeks or months it took. So make it better late than never.
Most of the FF series are being/been remade so why not continue up to the best FFVII??? I would buy a PS3 just for that game until then i'll sit back and play my XBOX360....so yeah give me intertainment that will last!

Handhelds are cheaper, more portable and you can sell multiple copies to each household (I want to play it over my lunch hour!)

There are tons of 'sensible' rumors such as getting zack or reviving aeris in FF7, and i think that a remake could encorporate all of the things that so many fans wanted from the original, in 'hidden’ sidequests as it were, all I think should be changed is the FMV length as in the tech demo, and the longed for extras like I said above.
They probably originally wanted to make her resurrection possible, but even though the FMV’s were all completed on time, a lot of coding was not. They then delayed the games release by a month. However, it seemed that even by late that next month, the coding STILL wasn't finished, Square were forced to wrap production up to meet the many-delayed deadline, by abandoning her resurrection and deleting all trace of possibility for resurrection(almost, they forgot her ghost) this time there is no pressure and they can spend as much time as will be needed to fully remake and perfect the game to its full potential… EVERYONE WANTS THIS TO HAPPEN!!!

I'm counting on getting myself a PS3 once FFXIII is released. Honestly, it's the only reason I want to get the system. (Incidently, the only reason I purchased a PSP is for the upcoming Crisis Core game.) FFVII is the first RPG I ever played, and no other game besides Xenogears has come close to it in story telling, character development and game play. I still revisit it every year or so! After Advent Children, I was itching to get my hands on the other games in the compilation. There's still so much of the world of FFVII that can be explored, and plenty of questions we fans still want answered, or plot lines we want to read more into. And come on, look at the profits from FFVII Compilation and THINK about how many people would buy this! お願い! もう一度 クラウド達の世界 入りたい!!!
I finally got my hands on the original copy for playstation and payed a "pretty penny" for it. If I am willing to pay the amount I payed for a 1997 playstation game, just imagine how much I (and others) would be willing to pay in order to obtain a remade version with awesome graphics? I would go out and buy a PS3 just so I could play the remade Final Fantasy VII.
Geez, first square teases us with that ff8 "tech demo" on ps2, then they do the exact same thing with ff7 on ps3! It is irritating because I see how a great game can go even further and then nothing happens. There needs to be a remake of ff7! We're all on our hands and knees here, so do it please!
I would love a FFVII remake, I can't even find the original copy for myself. Plus, seeing it on The PS3 would be awesome! I've tried to buy every FF game possible since they are so incredible and inspiring, the y open a new world and they are what imagination is all about!
Square isn't going to remake because of stubborness. New ideas drive production not re-makeing....they try the numskull ideas, cereberus and avent children.....only to SUCK...yes, I didn't think the story of children was AMAZING did you?, and if you did, perhaps the only thing that appealed to you was a graphically superior nastalgic film. Not once have I thought, hmm I'd like to watch that film again...I think everyone should let off square for a vii remake. Let them keep making crap......I'm sure when in dire need for redemption, they will remake, until then,... FORGET IT!!!!!
final fantasy seven was the most incredible game i have ever played i own the movie advent children and the voices are exactly as i imagined them to be. i vote that you do remake the game not so much the story but for graphic wise and give the characters voices instead of subtitles...soooo much reading AAHHHHHH!!! i would buy it and any and every final fantasy game that comes out i hope they never end they are a great game and capture the imagination of a whole generation of teens and some adults to. a world we can lose ourselves in for hours on end so please please remake it and continue all your fantastic work on these wonderful games.

I just bought the movie and I watched the game thing on it that showed some of the game and I have to say, it looked pretty bad graphic-wise but I loved the movie and if they made the game graphics batter, YES I WOULD BUY IT!!!
Final Fantasy VII was such a huge success because of it's break through game play. I'm not very sure if the story is the best, but none the less everyone who has played it loves it for some reason. Those fans would easily shell out 59.99 for it, if not more for a collectors edition with the same game in a nice metal case. Recently Final Fantasy VII for PSX has been selling between 60-180 dollars. Clearly there is still a huge demand to play a game that got us hooked at a younger age, so why not remake that game, with stunning graphics. If I were Sony, I would be pleading with SE right now to make it, otherwise the PS3 is in some SERIOUS trouble with the lack of titles it once had for PSX and PS2.
I for one would drop everything to buy a PS3 just for a remake of FFVII, and I'm sure many others would justify their 600 dollar purchase for this game alone.

FF7 is by far the best Final Fantasy game made to date and a remake is a great idea. If were to remake should probably make it for PS3 b/c you know the game will sell and people will buy a PS3 just to get the game. + the graphics for the game would be so much better for PS3. people will definitely get the ps3 and the game cause i know i will get both just to own the game.

FFVII has elements of all the greatest stories ever told. I mean the classics that they always force you to learn about in high school. It is one of the best RPGs out there, and people are still paying BIG money to get their hands on a scratched up used copy of the game. If Square-Enix would take the time to release a re-make of the game, their efforts would not be in vain. I would buy the remake, even if it had no new features to the actual story line, and I have a copy of the original game.

I hope this helps because a game with such a great story really deserves better graphics. I have been playing games since i was just a kid, even before SEGA and even before Commodore 64, but never have i seen anything that i could compare to Final Fantasy 7. I would raise a statue to a guy that wrote the story for the game because i have never seen anything like it! Not even in a book and i read a lot of books. Anyway a remake is a MUST, not because of money, not because of popularity of the game, but because it is a masterpiece. For me Final Fantasy 7 is priceless and i wouldn't sell my original game for anything. If a remake would be made i would spend a fortune to get it, because such games come only once in a lifetime! Final Fantasy 7 can't be repeated...it is one of a kind and therefore only a remake with better graphics could achieve greater success.

this game is a master piece, every final fantasy player in my school (and there is a few) have jumped at the idea of a ff7 remake when i showed them the demo trailer, imagine ff7 game with the graphics of the featured demo, damn without question id buy two copies as i did with the original, one as a play, and one as a backup :P

SE is a Japanese game company, so fans of FFVII in the U.S are a relativly small portion, and aren't a strong enough plying force. Unless you could get EVERY FF fan, in both Japan, U.S, and Europe to sign this, I doubt Square will ever even know this poll exists.
Don't waste your time. SE does what it wants. How many people do you know who requested FF Tactic's PSP installation and an FFXII sequal?
