The United States Congress:American education has been struggling since the conception of the idea that the Federal Government has a right to control education. However, the foundation of the Constitution has been ignored. The founding fathers of this Nation were fearful of the federal governments power that is why they gave Congress only the enumerated powers listed in Article 1, Section 8. We the people of the United States wish for the Federal government to live up to t thier position as protectors of the Constitituion. The tenth amendment states that the powers not delegated to Congress is given to the states and to the people. Parents and teachers and even individual school districts are better apt to teach thier students. The federal budget in education has expotientally increase over the past century however, the scores the students in America are receiving have not increased. This is why the following signitures should represent the concern of the people that the Department of Education and federal statues in edcuation should be eliminated including No Child Left Behind (NCLB). A Concerned Citizen,
