We the people think that Consumer Fireworks should be Legal for Adults 18 and older to buy, use and possess. Every year many people cross the boarder into New Hampshire to buy Fireworks for the Fourth of July. Some way also choose to cross into Connecticut and Vermont if they want non-aerial Fireworks. Massachusetts is 1 of 5 states that bans all types of Consumer Fireworks. We see no reason the ban all Fireworks. The state is now struggling with the budget and looking to raise taxes and create new tax revenues. And casino gaming is now back on the table. The state could Legalize Fireworks and put in place a system of Regulation and Restrict them to those 18+ so they don't end up the hands of children. The states allows Alcohol sales, and years back they had lifted the Sunday Ban of Liquor Sales. Tobacco is Legal for those 18 and older. Firearms are Legal for Adults with the proper permits. Bicycles and Motorcycles and Legal the ride on our streets as dangerous as they are. Fireworks are safe if use the proper manner, accidents are a result of irresponsible use. We see no reason why we should be in the minority when it comes to Consumer Fireworks, We would like to join the other 45 states where Consumer Fireworks are Legal.

Legalize, Restrict it to 18+ years, and tax it. Plain and simple.

I support this petition and resent our legislators for attempting to stifle my freedom of expression. Hell, you can own a gun in this state, but not fireworks???

I support this petition. Fireworks can actually help the economy. If people misuse fireworks that\'s their fault. it\'s like if someone burns themself playing with a lighter.
