I had to go with HD DVD because of all of the great Universal content and DVD Forum Group's approval. PQ and AQ is virtually the same for both formats.
If you look HD DVD sales are actually better than bluray. The only reason bluray is doing better is the studio support. Put movies out on both and see who will really win!
I know many friends and family who own, or plan to own an HD DVD player (with little to advanced knowlege). Please make your movies availble to HD DVD, I'm sure you will sell many, many HD DVD's, and although you will loose money from SONY, you'll more than make up for it. thank you!
I have owned an XBOX 360 HD DVD drive for about 5 months, and have purchased between 35 to 40 HD DVD movies during that time. I never bought standard DVD's at that rate, but find the HD DVD format completely addicting. The few small theoretical technical advantages that BluRay enjoys appear to have no real-world impact. In fact, it appears that HD DVD picture quality is noticeably superior, and the interactive features are completely absent on BluRay.With the imminent release of even less expensive HD DVD players, I think the need to support this format is clear.
I have both a HD add on player and a PS3. I prefer the HD format hands down over the Blu Ray. i now have 27 HD titles and only 3 Blu Ray. I will continue to support HD. I am hoping Fox do as well.
HD palyers are superior. they have better options and cost less. i had a Blue-Ray player and got rid of it. It was not upgradeable and would not play the movie the Descent.
I have already spent over $700 already and only spending more every payday. if fox doesn't want my money then feel free not to release movies. doesn't hurt me.
I asked my local EzyDVD about which has been more popular and they said that HD DVD was getting heaps more attention from customers than blu-ray has. It would be absolutely silly not to make the move to HD DVD as the consumer support is much bigger than you might realise
