I cannot afford a blue-ray player before March 2007 or a playstation 3 in March 2007 (I'm in the UK) however I have an x-box 360 already and can afford the hd-dvd addon it seems I will never be able to afford your films in hi-def unless you release them on both formats. Your really are cutting out a big market of people for who'm the x-box 360 hd-dvd or cheaper hd-dvd players are the only affordable option. I could work harder but my boss won't give me more money for doing so. Actually I don't know why you're bothering releasing hi-def films at all if you aren't going to make them accessible to every consumer out there. None of us know which format will succeed so really backing 1 format in my eyes is bad business as it makes it look like you have something against the people who have already spent their hard earned money on a hd-dvd player. Either that or you're just trying to save some money by producing films on one hi-def disc format and don't care about your potential customers. I really wanted x-men in hi-def but there is no way I am not going to buy another console or spend £1000 just to see that one film or even ten more films, no I'll just stick to upscaled dvd's of the films an purchase hd-dvd's from companies that support both formats. Oh and I feel the same way about companies just supporting HD-DVD I think supporting one at this stage is just bad for the consumer. The only people this kind of move benefits are you the money hungry, couldn't care less about the consumer we just want to force them into buying expensive things they can't afford, film/television studios.
HD DVD is clearly a superior technology. Much like a "rocky" movie the unexpected contender is winning the crowd over. Please for the sake of your companies future, and the paying customers of your media support hd dvd.
blur-ray...sorry blu-ray doesn't stand a chance. The other studios can see this...why can't you? The successor to DVD will be HD DVD...not betamax...er i mean blu-ray.
Fox! You just have to release on HD! I mean Predator, XMen, all the greats! There's a million ppl with HD players and waiting with money in hand just for you!
I support this petition because as a proud owner of an xbox 360 which will be releasing an HD drive in Nov and owner of the Toshiba Hd-A1, so I'd like to see HD win the format war and be able to purchase Star Wars, Daredevil, X Men, etc on HD and have no plans for a Blu Ray including PS3
what a shame so many great movies on fox,but to me to invest in a blu-ray at the price is insane!! and a fomat that has many issues.hddvd is here its great and your missing out on sales wating for a fomat that may be dead in the water,i hope like many others you come to your senses and support hd-dvd also
hd-dvd appears to be the lest expensive and most expansive way to broaden your profits with more players in the homes now than blue ray, besides do you really believe people will buy a PS3 to watch movies???
HD DVD is what your customer wants, better quality, lower manufacturing cost, DVD compatibility. Think of the needs of your customers, not the needs of Sony Shareholders
I want HD content and I want it now. I'm not here to wait until BD players dropped in price, I'm not here to wait until BD get their acts together.
In order to get HD content NOW, the only format that delivers is HD-DVD
I'm not usually an early adopter of new technology, but I purchased a Toshiba HD-A1 based on it's objectively superior approach to HD. Most, if not all, future DVD purchases I make will be in the HD-DVD format. This is simply an additional revenue stream opportunity.
