Marriage was originally instated to help govern the tradition by protecting the rights of the two spouses. Marriage was not a religious ceremony until about the 12th century... There are no religious reasons behind marriage\'s origination. I realize traditions change so if that is the case and marriage is considered religious then where does the constitution principle of Separation of Church and State come in? Separation of Church and State was created so that the government was not to involve itself in the businesses of the church. Currently around my area in Northern Michigan we have quite a few churches that support gay marriage… So either the government needs to step up and realize they are directly violating Separation of Church and State or get their facts right and realize marriage was not even a religious practice for the first 1,200 years after \"Christ\'s Death.\"

Equality for gays? Ridiculous. It has been scientifically proven that the brains of gay males is more similar to the lower apes in development and structure of the frontal lobes and hypothalamus. Gays are simply degenerates, they get that way from poor genes, masturbating too much, repeated contraction of venereal disease,etc. Let's face it, they aren't even human, just like child molestors, herion junkies, meth addicts aren't human. First, being Gay is Genetic, so it really isn't anyones fault weither they are gay or not, so I see no reason to discriminate against someone because of it.
