But - I LOVE the Geico commercials and I don't even own a car! They are way better than that irritating "belly fat" commercial or the zillions of "legal" drug commercials and I could name many more. I like the humor and I think the Geico ad agency is a winner!
Not only are the commercials dumb, they outright lie. With excellent driving record the best Geico would offer me is twice what I was paying their competition (good competition at that, not some basement insurance joint).

I belive the ads need to be taken off the air because their claims of saving most customers money is false. Everytime I had them quote me, they have failed everytime to beat even the more well known and typically expensive insurance companies. I have a clean driving record with nothing that would result in having increased risk as an insuree. There are laws concerning truth in advertising and there claims continually voilate this. Also you have to ask yourself if they spend so much on advertizing on all networks, how can they really save you money?

I can't explain it but all Geico comercials infuriate me. I somerimes punch my radio when im driving. The latest ones with the ventriloquist is bizzare and creepy. I hate gieco and their advertising agency.

GEICO sucks more than anyone knows. Not just in how they handle their insurance, but in how they care for their employees... basically, the same way: they DON'T. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.
Yes, Geico sucks. Why? I checked prices with many different companies, and their rates were way off, higher than everyone else's. No, It's not due to my driving record, (by the way, no tickets...) Every company based their price on the SAME information. AND it took MORE than 15 minutes. I gave them info, then they made an appointment to call me the next day???
Then, I told them no, that they were charging $300 more than full coverage from Nationwide (My personal favorite insurance company). They didn't want to take no for an answer, repeatedly calling with these stupid messages about their customer satisfaction ratings? and repeated emails and letters???

Your points get completely lost in the garbled spelling and poorly conjugated verbs. I will say, the laugh I got from the word "uneducated" spelled incorrectly was worth plodding through that mess! If you must petition something (although petitions are long proven to be ineffective), find something to care about that truly matters. Love the ads or don't, there are much more important things to get upset over.
I happen to be a GEICO employee, and i couldn't love it more!! So while your sitting there with your petty $500 christmas bonus complaining about our commercials know that I am sitting in front of my TV with my $5000 profit sharing check laughing my ass off at those commercials!!!!!
Even the "I'm lovin' it" commericials are better then the Geico commercials. But their goal is too make them stupid so that you'll remember them. Their plan is working and the more you keep talking the more they'll keep doing.
I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is I lost another loan to Di-tech. The good news is I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. So, with that money I'll go and buy a Bow-Flex because it will make me thin. Then I'll go to the doctor and get a prescription for Enzyte so I can be smiling all the time like that cool guy Bob in the commercial.
There's a few examples of the incredibly stupid ads we keep getting beaten over the head with. The most recent one which irritates me to no end is Earthlink. I saw the same ad twice during one commercial break. That's as bad as Geico showing their ads back to back. I have to ask, is their target audience just complete morons who aren't going to get the message the first time. Anyway, the Earthling commercial, when the girl at the end of it say, "I promise to treat your problem like my problem." I don't know what her problem is so why would I want mine treated like that? The correct wording would be, "I promise to treat your problem as if it were my own."
If Geico, Di-tech, Enzyte, Earthlink and Bow-Flex have decided stupidity is an artform, they've done it. If they think beating me to death with their tv, radio, newspaper and junk mail ads is going to make me want to be a customer then they're dead wrong. I won't feed the beast, I won't pay for those ads. How much money could all these companies save me if they cut back on their ads? I called Geico once to get a quote (I wasn't going to do business with them even if they were cheaper) and their price was $700 dollars more than my current carrier.

First, half the people here are idiots. Yeah if you've been with a company for 5 years you get more discounts and it'll be cheaper.
Second, COULD save you UP TO 15%. Doesn't say will, says could. Would you like a big blinking red light that says NOT EVERYONE WILL QUALIFY? Sharpen your listening skills.
Third, you can all sign this petition as much as you like. It's not going to do a damn thing. You can't sign a petition to make someone change their marketing strategy. Whoever made this thing needs to grow up.
Fourth, the commercials are obviously getting your attention if so many of you remember then, so they're doing what they're created for. You either love them or hate them. Deal with it. There's a mute button for a reason.
Fifth, they only do 6 month contracts, as do most companies. There is no extending your contract, only renewal after your 6 months. If you don't pay your bill, you get canceled. Real simple. They don't extend your coverage so they can not get paid even longer. That'd be a great business practice.
Sixth, who in their right mind would want to insure only high-risk drivers? Think about that. They're more likely to be paid out for an accident. Hence the high-risk. The companies that cater only to those drivers are much more expensive, and usually fight over every nickle when it's time to pay out.
Last, Geico is a good company. If you stopped speeding or getting into wrecks you wouldn't be paying more. They don't follow illegal practices, if they did they would be shut down. Laws are strict and they're followed up on.
No, I'm not an employee. No, I don't have their insurance. I DO work for a competitor, and I'll tell you that you could find the same things said about my company.

I LOVE Geico's commercials that don't make sense. The one you mention is hilarious; it's a parody of Old Navy's fleece ads, with the point being that their clothes won't save you money on car insurance. It's funny, it's random....and if you don't get it...certainly don't waste time making pointless petitions. Geico makes some of the best commercials in the world.

Geico has the right to advertise however they want to. It's their money, and they spend it accordingly. Regardless of what your opinion of it is, bottom line is they get customers from it. So why should they stop? More importantly, what gives you the notion that you should do something to stop them? If you have a problem with what you are seeing, change the channel, or watch less TV. Tv Advertising is absolutely needed. That is not a question. Commercials have a purpose. Some are great, some are bad, and some (like geico's) are absolutely crap.
The fact that they use the bad situations that many real people have to deal with in pain, and the imperfections of nature to gain market, makes them a bad company with a bad ad agency.
I can honestly say that this is the only company I've ever hated for their commercials.
If they can't win you over with a positive influence, I guess they have to "get dirty" and burn their name into your emotions. I just hope that one day, they go through one of those bad situations that they rub in your face with every commercial.

When it comes to GEICO's ads, I can't say that they are all bad. When seeing a new ad of theirs rather than the "oh another commercial" response, it's more like "what the heck is this!"... and then figuring out is a GEICO ad... it certainly breaks the monotany.

I don't watch most commercials, but when I'm zooming through them and notice a GEICO I back it up and savor it. Some are far better than others. The caveman bit is pure genious! And Tony Little doing a self parody is a riot! You can do it! These commercials would not be the deciding factor in whether I bought their service or not, but it does make their name stick in my mind.
Some here bring up other commercials, like ditech. I don't really get into those as much. But another company that does make me stop and watch are the BK commercials. Cowboy Hootie, the plasic faced king somehow appearing uncomfortable while sitting in bed with some guy, happily rolling in the floor with the family dog, scoring a douchdown and doing a triumphant ditty, all incredibly funny!

Geico engages in predatory business practices on a routine basis. How else could they pay for their crap commercials. Bait & switch tactics from the getgo. & quit paying and they will extend your policy untill you "owe" them several hundred, cancel you and send you to collections. Never mind that they should only insure for as long as the funds last. What a bunch of corporate pirates!

I went looking for hate comments on the Geico commercials and I could not believe how many people love them!?! I admit the caveman commercials are brilliantly funny, but the "I've got good news" commercials are some of the most mindlessly un-funny commercials I've ever seen. I can't beleive people love them. One gratifying aspect: the people who love them all seem to be lowlife trailer trash. So apparently it's an intentional Shakespear-esque allusion on the part of Geico, and as their car insurance market is predominantly lowlife trailer trash. Therefore, these awful commercials too are brilliant.
Just think, all the money you could make if you owned a tv station. Companies just clawing to buy 30 to 90 second spots to get their products advertised on your network. It measures in the $$THOUSANDS$$ Time on your tv station well earned.
