Doritos in the early 80\'s were different and MUCH better! Only crappy off-brands had that orange, powdery coating that Doritos have now. I was appalled when Frito-Lay changed the recipe, and knew it was a mistake. I STILL miss those light-brown Doritos!

I support this petition. As a 31 yr old I can remember when I loved doritoes, nacho cheese and cool ranch. The original flavors were applied liberally and evenly. then cooler ranch and nacho cheesier. These make me sick to eat. They are to much and overbering. The newest ones are called cool ranch and nacho cheese but the are still nacho cheesier and cooler ranch. Please go back to the chip that I and the rest of america loves.
Do not be fooled! The so-called "return" of Taco Doritos from this past Halloween (2008) is still NOT the same formula from the "original" taco from early 1970's. I think the 2008 version tastes awful! Formula is NOT the same...DEMAND THAT FRITO LAY GO BACK TO ORIGINAL FORMULA--DOES ANYONE AGREE?

I remember the first day I had the new recipe. It was horrible and still is. PLEASE at least make the old recipe available even at a higher price!
I support this petition. The original Doritos of the 80s (with clear face bag) were the best. I don't know why, but the cheese made me want to enjoy a book. I read more and studied better. No joke! I thought I was crazy but my sister said the same thing, Doritos made her read too! Think back, I bet you had a comic book, Readers Digest or something in front of you while chomping on those chips. That's why kids today are silly, they don't read enough because they don't have the good Doritos to help them. Even if not forever, they should bring back the original for limited time. I can still almost taste them. mmmmmmmmm so yummy!

I like to eat my Nacho Cheese Doritos with hot sauce mixed in with the cheesy powder by shaking them and the sauce in a ziplock, but because of how they are now with less cheesy powder and changes to the chip, they don't taste the same! They're frankly pretty gross. PLEASE make the old ones available again! Let people have a choice!

The original Doritos were so addictive and good. This is the way everything is going in the world. Quality is sacrificed for quantity. And honestly with as many versions of Doritos that are out there they would have sold the originals by now if it wasn't about money.
Doritos Taco Flavor(original) from early 1970's were the best!! New taco from today (2007) are awful tasting. I do not buy ANY Doritos now. In early 1970's I would purchase 3 large bags of Taco (original) flavor per week!! I have called Frito Lay many times, but they say that demand, spice cost keeps them from producing the original Taco. I believe they are lying. I would pay $5 per bag for original Taco flavor!!
Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one. I was so very sad when they destroyed the taste of my favorite chip. I can only hope they'll wise up and bring back our original nacho cheese flavor.
To severely alter a core product in the Chip Industry to save a few bucks is shameful. Consumers were spending big bucks on Doritos anyway. They certainly weren't cheap, but people paid the money because the original Nacho Cheese Doritos were such a fantastic tasting product. The new Nacho Cheese chips are absolutely disgusting. They not only have an awful initial taste, but they leave a much worse after taste in your mouth compared to the originals. For Pete's sake. Didn't you learn the lesson from the failed Coke/New Coke experiment? The Nacho Cheese Doritos are unquestionably in that same category. I used to get at least 2 bags of Doritos every week for the family. That's over $350 spent per year on your product. Might not sound like much, but multiply this by all the other unhappy consumers out there, which there are many. Change them back, please. Otherwise I, and as I can see here, many others, will not be buying them any longer.
Somebody may have already mentioned this inthe petition, but the new taste of doritos came out of a cost cutting measure. That's why they started the new design and ad campaign before the changeover in order to ease the change over to the public. Sales are down because of this but they are actually making more money because of the money that are now saving. People still buy it for parties and picnics despite the newer taste. Personally I hate the taste of Doritos now, but on the upside it's been an opprtunity to no longer be tempted to eat them.
I agree with everyone the new cheese doritos SUCK big time I want the doritos I use to eat when i was a kid in 1985...I don't like all that flavor piled on them it's nasty!!!

I halfway support this petition. I want to see the original original Doritos brough back. Not the nacho cheesier crap that has been around for a decade or so, but the original of the 70's & 80's.
They changed from classic to better tasting, then came out with a new package, just to try to trick us into buying them again. But they still taste like crap! Bring back the classics and I'll be happy to buy them, I used to eat them so much, i should own stock, but now, they're just not worth it.

Doritos suck now wtf!! I used to eat 2 or 3 bags a week, then I got a new bag and I can hardly eat a handful before I have to switch. On the upside this has forced me to eat different chips, some of which I might actually prefer to the old taste. If it isn't changed soon I may never go back. Kettle cooked BBQ chips for the win!
i believe the change was to a new 'non trans fat' oil and that it is why the good taste is gone, doritos were my favorite snack along with cheese dip but even cheese dip cant make them taste any better. i wish they would make twop brands if need be, one healthy no trans fat brand along with the taste is there brand. please do something and bring back the taste.
This is really stupid. Why did Doritos change their recipe? Because they think that changing the recipe will make more consumers. Well guess what, Frito Lay? You just lost more customers than you gained. Your new Doritos taste like rabbit crap. The classic ones were SO much better. You need to learn what the term "New & Improved" means. I support this petition. I knew it was only a matter of time until I found a site like this. NEW DORITOES SUCK. I'm 36 years old the first thing I ever choked on was a sharp doritoe. I would buy a couple bags a week, until last year. The only way I can eat these new nasty things, is if I dip them in something, anything. The new taste may be okay for youngster's. bust my 10 year old doritoe eating dog wont even eat them???? The good news is I've found other non-frito-lay snacks, that are just as yummy as OLD DORITOES!!!
The new Doritos are an embarrasment to the great tradition Frito Lay established. I don't mind you guys going cheesier but this new formula and even worse the new look is disappointing and ultimately not satisfying.
