Nintendo, you recently announced that the Nintendo Revolution will NOT be supporting High Definition (HD) Television. We, at 1080up.org believe that this is a bad idea, and that by doing this, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Just like coloured televisions replaced black and white ones, High Definition sets will replace standard definition sets. In the U.S.A, 12.5% of the consumer population own a High Definition set. This figure is set to grow very quickly, as HDTV gets a stronghold on the consumer market. Nintendo, you say that by not supporting HD you will save money, and that games will be cheaper for third parties to produce for your system. Yet the money saved by not supporting HDTV, will be nothing compared to the money lost when a loyal fanbase deserts you. We, at 1080up.org, and the majority of Nintendo fans around the world, want you to support High Definition on the Nintendo Revolution. Thank you.

I have been a gamer most of my life and have always supported Nintendo. I have to complain that unless you are just making a toy for a 13 inch tv in the kids playroom you are seriously shafting all of your fans who play there games on a average sized tv. All you have to do is walk into a circuit city, best buy, walmart, or sears and you will see that all of the televisions are Widescreen HDTV's, with maybe 5 to 8 standard res 4:3 models. I think this will be the last year you will be able to find a SDTV 27 inches or larger. I seriously hope you reconsider your stance on High Def, even if you do not require all games to support HD like Microsoft, at least provide the option to game developers to include HD so that when developers release multiplatform games or consider your console for an exclusive, it does not become the ugly duckling that people want to avoid.

Nintendo will NOT get ANY of microsoft's or Sony's audience without the ability to compete graphically, and the ability to support hte same excellent games that the other systems have

You should definitely support HiDef. In a matter of years, most of the people without HiDef TVs will probably get one, and switch systems to the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360. Don't fly high in a faulty space shuttle, Nintendo.

SED TV's are expected to make a splash this year. This means that current HD prices will be forced to drop or they'll go away and be left with only SED's (though I think it will happen).

I recently got a Panasonic PT-AE-900 projector, and got myself composite cables to get be best quality possible out of my GC, and I must say, graphics are amazing and sharp even though it's 480p. From what I heard, not only will the Revolution not support HD, but won't even support 480p with compsite cables like the GC does. If that's true, that's bad news. I'm signing this petition because if HD is not available on the revolution, I want it to at least have a digital output for 480p like the GC does.

First the N64 is cartridge based and then the Gamecube does not support DVD playback...I sense a trend. Let's get this one right and take back the throne.

I'll never go for an Xbox. Looking forward to PS3. Most excited about Revolution, but I've also got 3 HD sets in my house. Bummer. I prefer gameplay over graphics, but I'm afraid these days I might be in the minority.

Please make hd at least optional or else it isn't even up to Xbox 1 standards as far as graphics.
