I own the Toshiba HD
DVD player XA1 and it is amazing.I work
part-time at Circuit -City(2 years) and it is a
significantly better picture than the Samsung Blu-Ray player.
The companies who are not supporting HD-DVD have lost my business period regardless of what movies they release. I am 100% HD-DVD and if they want my business they will support HD-DVD. Its that simple.
I have purchased a HD-DVD player because it is more affordable and has the better picture quality and does not require me to buy a new receiver to get the new HD audio formats.
I DO want to buy your movies but I will only buy (no rentals either) movies in the HD-DVD format.
Why should I buy TWO HD players to buy/watch YOUR movies?
If you want my money support MY format, HD-DVD.
What ever happened to letting the consumer decide? I want my HD DVD now! Disney, Fox and MGM. I have supported you for years with DVD sales. Now YOU should support me with HD in the format I chose. I wont buy anymore DVD's. Its all HD content now. Thats why you sales are suffering. Give me what i want !
HD DVD is bringing HD to people's homes at a lower price.
US and EU should investigate Sony for illegal business practices. Sony should be asked to divest their "content" holding (Sony music, Sony Pictures). No Consumer Electronics company should be allowed to invest in content. As Sony has shown, they develop the hardware and then decide to release content ONLY for their format. This forces consumer to buy their hardware (and another of the competing format, unless an Universal Player is released - like in the case of DVD-A and SACD).
Sony failed with Beta as they did not control the content at that time. This time, they knew they could get away with it... and the losers are the consumers.
I support this pettition because HD-DVD has proved to be the superior format despite claims to the contrary. Blue Ray has, on the other hand, proved to be more smoke an mirrors.
we as consumers should be able to make our choice between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray which we can't do when studios refuse to release on HD-DVD. one would think that a studio would want to make as much money as possible and not leave out a large portion of consumers with their purchasing dollars. one has to wonder if these studios are "making money" from Sony with nice little side deals? why else would a studio who wants more money not release a product that will make that money?
£130 to add HD-DVD support to the 360 I already own ... £450(ish) to get the cheapest Blu-Ray player ... obvious which format I'm interested in right now.
because of the value and quality offered by HD DVD. I plan to buy Combo HD DVD's as gifts this holiday season and without your support. Please join HD DVD and give us more choice of quality films.
I want to punish sony for trying to force an inferior over priced format on us and the tactics they have used. Large companies never take our needs into consideration or do what is best for the consumer well here is our chance to hurt them bad for not listing to us more power to the superior HD-DVD
HD DVD has been proven consistently to be a better buy over Bluray. I want to vote with my dollar studios! Please start releasing your films in the HD DVD format.
