We don't want VHS vs. Beta part 2. The consumers lose, and so do the retailers. Adopt one format!

Tony said 12/07/06, 6:06 pm (verified)
We need one unified HD format. I don't really care about extras and will not spend over 25 dollar for a movie. Therefore HD DVD sounds a lot better then blue-ray.

I have bought 10 HD-DVD's in 2 months, 0 Blu-Ray. Sony/BR is going to lose this war. Give us your movies, we want to own them.

Great format and makes better sense to my wallet. Sony is trying to use the PS3 as a trojan horse to get bluray into peoples homes. HD-DVD for the win.

I love HD-DVD. The technology is far more stable than Blue-ray and the quality is awesome. No grain in the movies and a very attractive price. The VC1 codec rox. I saw blue-ray movies in a supermarket and the MPEG2 coded discs are a joke. I don't pay 1300€ for a technology to watch grain and pixel crap. Movies in DTS like T2 skips frames during playback an so on and so forth. For me HD-DVD rulez.

I have not and will not ever buy a Blu-ray movie. As it stands I'm more than happy to continue to give my money to Warner, Universal, Paramount, et al.

Dear Movie Industry, I own over 1300 original DVDs. I will never buy Blue Ray or support Sony... The uncertainty of HD-DVD/Blue Ray has caused me to slow down adding to my DVD collection. If you want to get some cash out of my pocket move over to the HD-DVD camp or just keep losing money like Sony...

Mediocrity will prevail if a single format is not adopted. And that is the truth of the matter. The only losers here are the consumers who want better resolution. I would like to see HD-DVD win and the addition of HDMI 1.3 to take advantage of the 5.1 uncompressed audio that is not possible with HDMI 1.1, which can only transmit stereo sound.

I want a High Def DVD player. Although I do have a bunch of Sony products and believe in there quality products. I believe Blu-ray has too many problems for them to succeed within a short time. For them to work out all the kinks it could be years. HD DVD has a quality product available now at a fraction of the price. Name them as the Winner and lets move on, before sony looses out on more money.

Please allow more HD DVD media to hit the market from other studios and end this war by either adopting a universal player that will play both formats. I had to spend 2k on a HD DVD Player and a BD Player because I want to watch as much as possible in high def. I feel the format war is unfair to the consumer.
