We need one unified HD format. I don't really care about extras and will not spend over 25 dollar for a movie. Therefore HD DVD sounds a lot better then blue-ray.
HD-DVD is great! I have over 20 HD-DVDs already and intend to add many more! I will not buy into Blu-ray though, so if Disney and Fox want my money, start releasing HD-DVDs!
Great format and makes better sense to my wallet. Sony is trying to use the PS3 as a trojan horse to get bluray into peoples homes. HD-DVD for the win.
I love HD-DVD. The technology is far more stable than Blue-ray and the quality is awesome. No grain in the movies and a very attractive price. The VC1 codec rox. I saw blue-ray movies in a supermarket and the MPEG2 coded discs are a joke. I don't pay 1300€ for a technology to watch grain and pixel crap. Movies in DTS like T2 skips frames during playback an so on and so forth. For me HD-DVD rulez.
Sony lost with Beta, now they are trying to push this BLURAY crap that is TWICE AS MUCH as HD-DVD. I'm so sick of Sony...and I used to love them. Stop this crap. I support HD-DVD
HD-DVD is my choice. I own a HD-DVD player and I've have purchased 5 HD-DVD's. I'm getting 3 more for Christmas.
Better picture....less expensive. What am I missing? Bluray is DONE...let's move on.
I now have one, soon to be two, HD DVD players in my house and own 13 HD DVD discs. I have also bought over 400 DVDs and intend to support HD DVD equally as much. I have not and will not ever buy a Blu-ray movie. As it stands I'm more than happy to continue to give my money to Warner, Universal, Paramount, et al.
Dell you of all people reason I like you guys is because we get what we whant for a good price, Same goes for HD-DVD it gets same quality as blue-ray only its cheaper
It's time to pick one format before it's too late and HD-DVD will appeal to the masses. Non tech-savvy people will recognize HD-DVD before the recognize Blu-Ray.
HD DVD is my choice, and dell disney, fox need to support HD DVD, people i know voice HD DVD and reconise the brand name and plan on buyingn hd dvd players and movies
Dear Movie Industry,
I own over 1300 original DVDs. I will never buy Blue Ray or support Sony... The uncertainty of HD-DVD/Blue Ray has caused me to slow down adding to my DVD collection. If you want to get some cash out of my pocket move over to the HD-DVD camp or just keep losing money like Sony...
Mediocrity will prevail if a single format is not adopted. And that is the truth of the matter. The only losers here are the consumers who want better resolution. I would like to see HD-DVD win and the addition of HDMI 1.3 to take advantage of the 5.1 uncompressed audio that is not possible with HDMI 1.1, which can only transmit stereo sound.
I want a High Def DVD player. Although I do have a bunch of Sony products and believe in there quality products. I believe Blu-ray has too many problems for them to succeed within a short time. For them to work out all the kinks it could be years. HD DVD has a quality product available now at a fraction of the price. Name them as the Winner and lets move on, before sony looses out on more money.
HD-DVD is the only format worth holding onto. Another proprietary format from Sony is not the solution. make blu-ray go away like mini-disc, atrac, umd, and betamax.
Please allow more HD DVD media to hit the market from other studios and end this war by either adopting a universal player that will play both formats. I had to spend 2k on a HD DVD Player and a BD Player because I want to watch as much as possible in high def. I feel the format war is unfair to the consumer.
Another proprietary Sony formats that'll never catch on. Supporting Blu-ray is like supporting Betamax, MiniDisc, & Atrac. Release all titles on HD-DVD and let Sony/Columbia continue be the only ones on BluRay. Come on studios, you want this war to be over and it already is.
I'll have an HD-DVD player by Christmas so wise up and either release your movies on both formats or switch to HD-DVD! Forget all about Sony & their Beta-Ray hype inflated crap.
