As one Sony fan put it recently in Hong Kong during the sales of ps3 - Sony is run like a dictatorship country they treat their fans like dogs. So you swho leave in the country of free - give them a lesson they will never forget - support HD-DVD
Consumers shouldn't be left behind because of dueling formats! Studios should release on both and let us decide! And for me HD DVD is the far better option. Go HD DVD!
i own an hd-dvd player and a blu-ray player, a ps3 and an xbox 360 hd-dvd add on. After watching several films on both formats I have come to the conclusion that hd-dvd is the superior format. Hd-dvd just looks so much better and the price point for the players and discs is better for the average consumer. Long live HD-DVD!!
As long as there are two formats neither will sell well. People don't want to get stuck with something that could be obsolete in a few months. I would buy a HD-DVD player today if all studios supported it.
I strongly support HD-DVD and want this war to end right NOW. I chose HD-DVD for many reasons over Blu-Ray, but one of the biggest reasons that sold me was the combo disc format. My family, friends and myself have been picking up widescreen format for years even though we still don't have a WS TV yet, but that's how important futureproofing a collection is to us. HD-DVD is the most innovative and cost effective. HD-DVD all the way.
Screw bluray, the quality isnt as good, nor is it worth the price. HD-DVD is crystal clear, and actually justifies the cost, SUPPORT HD-DVD, there's NO REASON NOT TO!!!
I'm sorry to say that I have had to hold off on buying a HD player and HD movies of any kind because of the format war. No one wants incompatible equipment and media. I hope studios shift their motion picture and other media support to HD DVD and that Sony positions BluRay towards data storage. There is a happy medium but it doesn't end with a BluRay DVD player.
I would definitely buy Disney, Fox and Lion's Gate films on HD DVD if they are available. Hopefully the studios will see this opportunity to get their films to the greater majority!
HD-DVD...easier, cheaper, higher quality = smarter. I just want sony to die, they aren't innovators, they build cheap stuff that dies fast, and they're consoles blow. Bluray better die.
Blu-ray can't do ANYTHING more than HD-DVD can already do.
The extra storage space is absolutely unnecessary and only used as a form of "security" (dummy files) for Playstation 3 games.
Hd-DVD is the way to go
Sony is trying all despicable tactics to force consumers to Blue-Ray. HD-DVD is in fact supeior in picture quality and cost. Sony is trying to monopolize the next generation of HD market without regard to their customers, the consumers. I will not ever buy any more Sony products for this behavior.
To think that most of these studios are not looking out for what's best for the consumer is just sad! HD DVD is a no brainer and should be supported more so than Blu Ray or equally rather than forced down our throats!
