We don't want to have another Betamax or VHS situation on our hands. Lets just make a decision and start making this wonderful technology available to everyone
This format war needs to end. Everyone is wondering why has HD sales not taken off? Well it's because there is a complete split on technology. NO ONE will buy until a format is decided upon. That format is HD DVD because it offers the same benefits as BLU RAY for half the cost. Consumers WILL NOT pay more for something that does the exact same thing. Please make HD DVD the only format so we can move on.
The saying goes, "Either lead, follow, or get out of the way." TO SONY EXECS: You failed at this technology, so do us all a favor and GET OUT OF THE WAY! As others before you, stop forcing an inferior product as the standard and slowing market progress to the detriment of the consumer. HD-DVD now!
HD-DVD is far beyond blue ray, no need to repeat history, HD-DVD already has a stronger foundation, work on that strong foundation rather than the weaker ones
This is what the consumers want and demand.
If you are on a networking social site, IE: myspace or something like that, then put the word out to everyone in your list.
The consumer must speak out on this.
We don't need another Betamax/VHS war. The sooner we get one winner, the sooner the market can take off, and $1,000 movie players aren't popular for mass market.
This battle of prides must end & must end now. HD-DVD is the logical choice due to its cost & picture performance. How can the HD market ever flurish untill people are sure that the format they buy is the technology for the future.
HD-DVD has shown the best initial results & has set the path to success.
Blu-Ray is a waste of technology. HD-DVD is cheaper, and visual quality is the same. Blu-Ray's only advantage is higher store capacity, which is totally not necessary. Take a look at half the BD's (and HD-DVDs) on the market today. They are still being released in two disk sets. Why? Certainly not because either medium is anywhere near being filled. No, its because your average consumer see's two disks, and THINKS they are getting more content. As such, BD's only selling point, just got flushed, because no publishers are even taking advantage of the available storage, and probably never will.
OK so lets move on with one standard, how about in 2007, since thats starts its third year. There is now a single Chip that reads all formats, for a single player, we just need someone to make it.
There should be just one format, and it certainly should be HD-DVD. For all the studios still supporting blu-ray, I hope they realize the inadequacies of blu-ray and start supporting HD-DVD that has become some sort of a standard amongst consumers.
Hd- DVD is the way to go. It si not a new techology just an enhanced of an old format and is very cost efficient. That is my big reason to support the one true standard HD-DVD format.
Sony just can't get it right...what is it with the greedy, blind execs there.
If the majority of movie studios release on HD-DVD ...Sony will be finished in this race!
Sony once again tries to rule the market in their greed, and actually thought the PS3 would lock Blu-ray as the winner, not so Sony, i want the eclusives to stop on blue-ray
By burning your customers in favoring one format over another, you risk losing them.
We want one format and that is HD-DVD.
Besides-when you're exclusive to one format AND it's losing...what kind of business sense is that?
Tired of double dipping. We just need one format of HD quality DVD's and the most cost efficeint is HD-DVD. To the average consumer HD vs BR DVD's the quality is the same. We want High Def quality movies. Not who has the better features of the movie or who can play stupid games on they're movie or has a different extra. When it comes down to it, it's all about the movie/home theater experiance. HD-DVD right now IMO is the best.
